Is this right about the P-1SC?

It says max boost psi of 30 on their website. Why go with the D-1SC instead if they are both capable of about the same boost numbers? Am I missing something?

not a huge fan of procharger but the d1sc im pretty sure just has a more efficient design. just because they're capable of the same boost levels doesn't mean they will perform exactly the same.

at the same boost level, the D1SC will move more air than the P1SC so itll run cooler and more efficient.. it moves a lot more air mid-top range at the same boost level. its a more efficient blower basically

Boost numbers aren't the only thing to be concerned with. Just becasue two superchargers are capable (and I use that term very loosely) of 30 psi doesn't mean they will make anywhere near the same horsepower. You can have two superchargers that make 30 psi each and one of them will make more power. Boost really doesn't mean shit. For example, lets say you have 30 psi on a stock engine. Put a good intake and a set of heads on it and that 30 psi will turn into about 25 psi and make more power than it did at 30 psi. My buddies Lightning has an F1R on it with Prochargers 30 psi pullies. He sees a high of 22 psi but he makes 900+ hp at the wheels. How much air the supercharger flows (cfm) and the efficiency of the unit play a big part.

and a maxed out s/c will put off so much heat that it will actually do more harm than good. its always better to for example only run 17lbs on a F1 thats capable of 30-35 than max out a P1 at 17lbs
