how far away is the tuner? for stage 2's you can "drive" it but its gonna have shitty driveability til its tuned. So if the tuner is just down the road then yes but if its a couple hundred miles then it's iffy.

its not going to be a couple hundred but its most likely over 50, do you think maybe one of those handheld tuners can help a little with a specific tune downloaded? thanks for the info.

Not unless it has a custom tune on it. I would just install them, take it for a little easy drive around and see how she acts. If it doesn't wanna run very well then just haul it to the tuner. actualy driving it will tell you whether or not its good to go or not

Those stage 2's might have PTV issues. I would double check on that with the manufacturer before I dropped em in and tried to drive it.

+1 Yes I assumed he already knew how to degree them and if he needed to but if you don't mike then you need to find out from comp if you need to degree them. are they 270's?

I love the Comp 270's, but they have been a real pain to me at times. I had one pair that I couldn't get timed good enough to keep the valves off the pistons. I ended up having to notch the pistons. They are great cams, but just be careful on the install.

i was reading up on the degree process and it seems like a pain but i guess its a must. i thought it was only for maximum power gains but i see now its a interferance issue as well. im starting to think these things are going to be sitting around for another 2 years haha.
