Can u mess up a purge selenoid?

HEy me and my buddy put in a zex wet kit last nite in his 03 and we hooked up the purge to the twelve volt and switch and grounded it. it worked for a second then we couldnt get to open anymore. is there any stupid things we may have over looked ? and can we make a relay off the accessories post and run the switches off that if we use a fuse and stuff... ? thanks

the purge solenoid is a small solenoid and dont need a relay. it works off 12+ and ground. make sure the wiring is good. if you need to double check, just jump the wires to see if it is doing what it should.

we got it fixed it was just a bad ground. We were up till about 330 installing it so we weren't thinkin so clear.
