What fits on a 17x9 inch tire??

Ok, right now I have 17x9 AFS Cobra R (95' series) all the way around with Falken Azenis 245s which are the worlds worst tires in my opinion lol.

I have 2 extra matching cobra r wheels that i'll have MT 275s on for saturday nights.

I'm gettin some new street tires all the way around for christmas and just needed a few pointers.. I'd like to get some 315s for the back but will they fit my 17x9 inch wheel?? And also I notice a lot of people go 315 in the back and 275 up front.. does it make a difference having a wider tire in the front? will i get better handling or any benefits or is that a waist? And what is the best brand for the money for just a regular every day street tire?

Thanks for any input

and 275 on the front will cause your car to follow grooves in the road a lot. i wish id have gone with a smaller tire in the front like 245

I had 17x9's all the way around on my 98 and i had 285's on the back and they looked good! ihad the goodyear gsd3's but my speed shop i go to had to send the wheels and tires off to a tire shop to put them on. speed shop said the tires are to big for the wheels but they'll get them on and they did and i had no problem at all for a couple of years till i traded the stang in for another one. 285's would be max in my opinion. also i had 255's or 245's (toyo's) on the front. personaly i would'nt go bigger than that

you should use at least a 10 inch wide rim for 315's. Most people run with a 10 or 10.5 with 315's in the rear and IMO would run a 255 on the front for handling reasons, but you can go as wide as a 275 (although the tire sites all say a 9.5 for 275's.

on a 17x9 you should just get 275's all the way around. It makes them last longer because you can rotate them. The best bang for the buck is probably Kuhmo ASX's. I payed $100 bucks a tire at Discount tire.

well, the mickey thompson 275s DRs fit perfectly on the 17x 9 so that takes care of that lol. i'll get some wider wheels in the future because i def want 285+ for the street.

the wider the tire the more rubber you have on the ground for better traction
