Does anyone else here think the X-cal 2 is garbage?
First off, I get the thing and I get instructions for an X-CAL 2 but the tuner is an SCT SF. I proceed to plug it into my car and it says SCT X-CAL 2 on the screen, so what is it...SF or X-CAL 2? I follow the instructions up to the "Turn Key On Without Starting" screen displays. So I turn it on and the screen flashes for like 20 seconds and than says something along the lines of msg timed out. Tried it like 10 times, still didn't work. All fuses good, no chip installed. The instructions suck and the website is all over the place. Three hours on the computer and all pissed off, I give up. Has anyone else had this problem? All I've heard is how easy this thing is to use and I can't figure it out, even with thier half assed instructions or website. A'm I a retard or is this thing not so easy to use?

Most likely user error...
Call SCT or your SCT dealer this coming Monday and have them talk you through it over the phone.

I just didn;t think it would be this hard to use a tuner that was supposed to be the easiest to use. Anyways, I'm just blowing smoke off because I have a P-1SC and 42lb injectors that I have to look at now for another week. I've been waiting patiently for this thing that would allow me to install my toys and now I have to wait again. Not what I expected at all.

It really is the most user friendly unit there is...once you get through the learning curve. We've had even more fun with the Preditor and AMS units. NOT!

I got one for my GT500 and it worked like a dream. I even took it in for a dyno and changed back to stock for the first run and then put ththe 93 octane tune back in and then even had the dyno guy tune it better and he put his tune in and it gave me an extra 45 rwhp with tune only, and that was on a warm humid day. I should be around 460 rwhp with tune only. Can hardly wait for my CAI.

I love mine. I have one for my 96 Cobra and one for my 07 GT. Super easy to use. Just beware of when you take the car to Ford for service. If they change the PCM code and you re load your tune your car will not start. So make sure to check in your code before re flashing after service.
