4.6 from a lincoln mark viii in a foxbody sway?

My friend offered me a 4.6 out of a 1993 lincoln mark viii for a couple hundred bucks. Id like to put it in my 91 5.0 but im not sure what all i would need, obviously a new manual trans from a newer mustang, but as far as computers go what would control this motor out of a car that only came in auto? help please before i buy it.

What's stopping you from putting a Cobra computer to it?

93-98 Mark VIII and 96-98 Cobras share nearly identical engines. There are a few differences, but wiring harness's are the same. Any 96-01 ECU will work just fine. To put the engine in a fox you'll need a tubular k-member from QA1 or AJE. Any Tremec T3550 or T3650, T45 or T56 will bolt up. A T5 can work too, but you'll need the bell housing from Lakewood to make it work. Ive done these swaps before so its no shy territory for me.

Maximum Motorsports also has a k-member that will let you put a 4.6 in a foxbody.

True, but theres been alot of clearance issues with long tube headers. The AJE and QA1 are the only ones ive used and seen that do not interfere with long tube headers.

Ah, good to know! Being in California, I don't think too much about LTs, as there's no way to make them smog legal.

It's uncommon enough that every one I know of has been the subject of a magazine article.

Ive seen plenty of mod motors swapped into foxes. Ive been part of, or done my own. A Mark 8 motor in a fox isnt new at all.

Hi I just had a couple questions on the 4.6 Lincoln motor I am using in my swap. I have a smog exempt vehicle 67 f-100. I have the motor and auto now and I was planning on getting a t-56 when it becomes available. My questions if you wouldnt mind.

Will I need an adapter to run a t-56 with this engine?

Best headers to run.

I have the 98 with the anti theft but I have the whole harness switch, key, shifter. ... should I run the factory harness and computer or will the pats theft be too difficult to get around. Basically I am overwellmed with wiring right now and not sure what I can eliminate for a critical path. If you have any recommendations on where to get diagrams etc I would appreciate it.
Sorry for the long message
Jason

93-95 mark viii engines aren't so great as they have weak valve springs. You'll also have clearance problems with 93 mark viii intake manifold on your Fox as the intake has rear mounted throttle body. You'll need 97-98 mark viii intake manifold or 96-98 cobra one.

No, you don't need an adapter. All trannys between 4.6 modular engines are interchangeable. You can put manual tranny out of any 4.6 mustang behind mark vii engine as the blocks are the same.I'm not sure about 3V 05+ mustangs but I think it will bolt-up too,05+ mustangs are using hydraulic clutches.96-99 cobras are using mark viii teksid blocks.

Goblin qucik question Clutch for t-56

I am far along with my Markviii block (1998) and finally got my t-56. I am aware I need a 96 up GT flywheel but what clutch will work. Do I need a 10.5 11 inch etc. I just havent found a lot of information as only a few had the 4.6 and t-56. I doubt there is a difference but just in case I was looking at the Fidanza 2.1 as this is mostly a street driver. Any input of advice would be great Thank you.
