buy a v6 a swap the motor out with a gt or cobra motor. and build the rear end like i did hehe.

then go to insure it.. the VIN comes up as a v6 which is a pretty significant price difference :award

just dont get any tickets like i did when iw as younger.i was paying 230 a month when i first got my own insurance for a truck. now that they are all off my license i pay 90 dollars a month for the mustang and a blazer. shop around and get a lot of quoutes but at that age with a v8 it will be hard to find anything thats really cheap

I only have liability. I pay $200 every six months and i'm 21. I know i should get full coverage, but i really just don't care. I've got a 96 and am going to be upgrading to an '08 when i graduate in a year anyway.

i was in your same shoes. i just got mines about 4 weeks ago and i was ready for the big insurance numbers to come around. i was expecting a good 250 a month and im now 18 . i am under state farm under my dads name and he has a good record for being 53 yrs old and i pay 160 a month. VERY reasonable i think.

I am just happy to be 23 (almost 24) and pay $80 a month on my own...It sucked for a long time though...Being in the military drops your $hit like whoa...

Damn! I'm 30, never had any accidents or tickets (just lucky I guess) and my insurance is $1500 per year with full coverage on my Mustang and a $500 deductible. I do have 2 vehicles though. When I traded in my last car and added the Mustang it went up almost $350/year. Living in Taxachusetts doesn't help either.

im 19, i have 2 negligent driving tickets (1 doing a burnout and 1 doing a wheelie on a crotch rocket), 1 no proof of insurance, and 1 no motorcycle endorsement. yeah my driving record is shitty, but i have fun at least.. for my 01 GT at geico its $220 a month with only the mininum coverage. with no tickets on your record you'll be looking at about $150. this is just the bare mininum washington state insurance.. if you want to add any other coverage it will add up FAST. if i had full coverage it would cost over $4,000 for 1 year.

Im 19, about to be 20.

98 mustang GT

$500 deductable costs me $221 a month. ( by comparison a honda accord was $11 less a month for same coverage)

that rate is with a "student" discount, as my GPA is over 3.0 in college ( full time student as well as job)

I have had zero tickets on my insurance record. i'm being raked over the coals by the insurance company for sure.

Be ready to pay $300 plus a month if your 16 years old.

Call your insurance company and get a quote, Ive done it several times.
