All new Next Mustang should be.....

I think the next all new Mustang should still be retro and should take after the 1974-1978 Mustang II. When I was a kid at about age 7 I just loved the King Cobra, So I will call Ford and send them letters until I get a retro Mustang II underproduction!!!!

You do realize that the King Cobra was about as slow as a dead quail? I don't personally dislike the Mustang II, because I love the idea of a RWD Pinto, which is exactly what it is. It is just 99% of people who hate the Mustang II.

I dont think there is anything sexy or slick looking about the mustang II. It would be a huge mistake for ford if they designed the next gen mustang to look like that.

I just think that the body style of the Mustang II is sexy and even way cooler then the current Mustang. I would do a retro Mustang II but with a 6.7L V-8 0-60mph in 4 seconds. I would also bring back the Pinto name as the Mustang coupe and have the Hatchback as the Mustang name.

I hope you aren't aspiring to work in marketing anywhere.

I also have come up with an all new add that is 1970's retro Disco (kind of like the honda minvan adds) that have disco music (maybe Beegees) and the car getting down and funky!!!!

Also i think shag on the dash board could be an option package.

I say if you want to go with a mustang II project more power to you but just know you will never beat very many other mustangs without lots of mods or even a motor swap there lite cars if you droped a 351 modified motor in it with gears and chassis upgrades it would be crazy fast

But it would still look like butt IMO. Besides, WTF is up with bringing the Pinto back? It was a death trap and people remember that. The name would kill the mustang line.

The explorer killed even more people with its exploding tires but it was still the number one suv until this year. Pinto name is very dear to me since my family had two of them one an early model and one a blue 1977 and a brown 1978 model. And Ford did use the Pinto name again as a trim level on the Escort model. Ford also likes to use old names again such as the Taurus name. Ford needs the Pinto as a Rearwheel Drive Coupe to the Mustang which really needs to be new in time for the Camaro in 09 or 2010.

I don't think there are alot of people that like the Mustang II. I like it. You can get a 302 Mustang II and make it fast. If you think about it, the 64-66 mustangs were slow until you made them fast. Even if you got 350 horses out of them, then you couldn't lock up. Let think about the good things about the Mustang II and think about the time it was in.

Retro Mustang II?

Compare the flow of the bodylines between a II and an 05+ sometime....its already here

Its actually amazing how close they are when compared side by side, which explains why the new style heralded the first Mustangs I've truly LIKED since the last II left the assembly line.

The new style looks to me like they grafted the first and last 6" of a 71 or so onto a II and smoothed the lines a bit.

I still wouldn't trade one of my II's for one, though (except maybe my $100 parts-car)

mustang II 2010

I see you are the kind of person that just loves pain.
You probably get burned from sticking you hand in fire and forgets on to do it again the next day.
It's ok tho, people like you have security that others can't understand because you will never have to worry and anyone trying to steal your Shyt.

Today I am putting some after market parts on one f my old mustang II's, adding a modular engine, some body flares and a 30,000 dollar price tag on it just for you

Its not a sado-masochist thing....I'd just rather own a Pinto on 'roids than a Fairmont any day of the week (twice on Sundays....no, make that twice EVERY day, and THREE times on Sundays!)

I'm a product of the mid-60's, and when the II came out I didn't know any "classic" Mustang owners, so I was never exposed to all the negativity they heaped on the Mustang II.

Keep yer 2010 Mustang II, though. I just bought a Black on black T-top King Cobra...for $3k.......Canadian.......on loose payments......

And as for a mod. engine in a II? No thanks. If I'm going to drop something that bloody wide into a II, it'll be a bigblock. There's actually more room to work under the hood of a stock 302 Mustang II (5.0/sub-compact) than there is under the hood of a 4.6 90's Crown Vic (4.6/fullsize sedan)
