78 King Cobra

I just bought a 78 Ling Cobra. It is in pretty good shape, needs new decals and paint but the interior almost perfect. It has less than 30,000 miles. It will be a project for me and my son. A 74 Mach 1 was my 1st car and have liked them every since then.

Yea I have plans for motor build later. I think the stock motor will be plenty for now. I don't want to put my son ot there with too much power in his 1st car!

30,000 miles? I think I would put that one in a safe place and only take it to shows.

Sure there is. If it truley has 30,000 there would be no doubt in your mind because the car would be mint in every aspect. There would be no looseness to the car, no creeks and cracks when driving, nothing would be wore out. If you are questioning whether it is 30,000 or 130,000 miles, it is probably 130,000 because like I said if it was 30,000 there would be no question.

when i was probably 14, i frst started to notice the gold on black king cobras.. at least it was an effort by ford to produce some excitement in an otherwise bleak automotive time. the 78 cobra probably convinced (ahem)..chevy (excuse me.) to reintroduce the 1980 z28, which in turn probably influenced ford's decision to introduce the 1982 5.0 HO, and the rest is history..
plus i think gap and roush ran a 351c mustang ll in nhra pro stock. it looked wayyy coooll ..

OK then it is only 30,000 miles because this car is in excellent shape other than the decals peeling.

I have quite a few mustang II's.
I agree they are probably stock some of the worse cars ever built as far as power...lol
Back in the day I struggled to beat chevy chevettes.
But what I have learned is they can be seriously up graded
not only can you put a 347 roller block in the car, But because it is a 70,s stang emmission wise they are still very streetable and make for a great sleepers to boot.
I have watched many faces over the years with much shock on them when this old Charlies Angel mobile blow past their new modern cars.
Currently I own about 5 stang II's, and I have had the pleasure of driving the least wanted cars now for over 20 years.

Look on CarDomain @ my latest projects with the stang II's
