Ah, what the Hell, I'll tack a bit of a progress report onto the thread...

My King has seen some progress and some stagnation.

Took it to its (and my) first show & shine last weekend, the first time I've actually insured it. We got a total of TWELVE II's!! at the show! This is pretty much unprecedented for a Mustang show that only had 170 cars.

Replaced the front seats with a pair of damned near perfect originals, with the 4-way adjuster track on the driver's side. Replaced the rear cargo panels, cut a hole in the hood under the scoop for a bit of ventilation.

Had to spend about three hours with the rear wheels off and creating the clearance needed for the 295/50R15's. Just about removed the outer sidewalls on the drive out to the pre-show. Then I found tread separation in the front tires...Gotta get another set, and thinking of trying 225/50R15's this time, just to bring the airdam up a wee bit.

And just this afternoon, I ripped the stock intake and 2150 off it, and slapped on that 68 4bbl and Holley 600. HOLY FUCK! The first test-firing went better than ANY time I fired it up with the 2bbl, and that was without priming it!!!

At this point, I know for SURE that the exhaust in severely restricting the flow. You can feel the force of individual exhaust pulses over 6' from the tailpipe, outdoors. So, I guess exhaust is on the list before I get my buddy over to fine tune that Holley...

But I still can't figure out the damned wiring nightmare. I managed to get reliable brakelights, but the rest is still totally messed up. I fucking HATE wiring...

Not to take anything away from this site, but....

I'd say that Mustang II Network - 1974 - 1978 Ford Mustang II is probably THE best source for general info. on the II. HUGE gallery, and plenty of tech, VIN & bucktag decoders, WICKED forum with a LOT of searchable info (use the search for just the forum. the one for the whole site is always a bit wonky). It takes a while to get activated for posting, but its worth the wait. Another one that isn't as busy but also has some good info is the II forum at stangnet.

Ok... It looks like it's time to add new life in this forum. Hello to all the people in here that are really feel'n Stang II's . I have added my 4th one to my collection but have yet to own a real cobra or a king. Anybody out here with some old buck tags from any of those cars?

I have one of each, but I also have the cars they attach to... Mind you, both cars are modded to the point it doesn't much matter what they left Ford like.

Hey you're not alone... Some of us just replace a piece here and wait a few months, then replace a part there. And our forum participation isn't much different. :-)
