![]() I still have to figure out the wife's damned digital camera. Are the batteries supposed to die 20 seconds after I first touch the camera? Damned technology...

Yeah I suppose so haha. I'm looking to swap the engine to a straight-6, upgrade the clutch and power steering, and a new paint job. It's really just a nice cruising car, but the 4-cylinder engine is completely unacceptable haha. I'll throw up some pics soon.

I agree. I just got a wicked deal on a 4-banger 89 ragtop, and if I can make a turbo from a carbed 2.3 fit, that's the way I'll go. A straight six in a II CAN be done, but a turbo swap or V8 is still going to be easier, less fabrication, and with better overall results. I thought about trying to swap an 81 3.3 into a 77 fastback, but decided against it...

Haha I've wanted to just turbo it for the longest time, but couldn't find a turbo or Fox-body to take the 4cyl. turbo'd engine from. Let me know how that goes, I would absolutely turbocharge it over engine swapping it. But at least swapping in the 6-cylinder would be easier than swapping in the 8, I could keep most the same components and wouldn't need new engine mounts...at least for this particular 6-cylinder my neighbor just gave to me haha.

Are you SURE you have enough engine bay depth to go with the inline six and still run a rad in a II??? Believe it or not, as long as you can get your hands on the V8/II bits, a V8 swap should be LESS work. The engine bay on a Foxbody is considerably longer than that of a II.
If you want, I could look into what it would cost for my buddy to send ya the 4-banger turbo stuff he has. I don't think I want to try to adapt the earlier turbo stuff to my EFI 4-banger...

Yeah that would be great, I've had no luck finding any turbo stuff. And you may be right, I've really just glanced at the straight-6 and made sure I could use the same engine mounts. My neighbor has just seen my driving the '78, so he stopped me one time and we talked for a while and then he showed me his early '70's 2-door thing (no idea what it was) that had this big-block V8 with 600hp? But he has a 6-cylinder that came out of it and just gave it to me haha.

Bit of a follow up...
Any pics yet? Oh, and after doing a bit of research, I would have to say that a 4-banger/4-speed with T-tops is VERY rare! Probably even more rare than a 4-banger Cobra II!!! The T-tops were about a $700 option when new, so most who wanted the T-tops also opted for the V8 option as well. DEFINITELY not a common order. And I'm still working on figuring out the shipping and cost for ya to get the turbo bits to ya...
