Oklahoma checkin in...

Been eyeballing this site for a while and figured might as register. Pretty much a Ford guy through and through. Had a few 'others' that pretty much didn't cut it.

Main Mustang is a 83 GT Convertible w/ a 347 Stroker pushing it around. Front end off an 85 parts car before someone asks... . To settle any questions about reliability of a 347 vs. other strokes... yes, I drive it on the street and occasionally to work 50 miles away. NEVER a problem.

95 Cobra. Usual list of bolts ons. heads, exhaust, intake...all that stuff.

And a 95 T-bird for kicks. Daily driver. Again, normal list of bolt ons for more enjoyment. Bad cell phone photo from the other day. Testing my new cell.

On the Cobra or Bird? After I sprayed it what I call Cocaine Pearl White, we were about to spray a motorcycle with that HOK Yellow when I figured why not do something that NO one else would do so I tape the car off and then grabbed the wrong gun. It was supposed to be a 6/1 ratio instead of a 1/1 for the bike which were mixed up and ready to go, just marked wrong. After the first hit, I figured, what the hell and went all out.

It's one of those things that folks either love or hate...with no in-between.

Welcome to MM

So where are you at in OK, im from the BIG city of Enid lol

And i kinda like your tbird, but of course i am one of the very few people left in this world that actually like scallops lol. But that comes from my intense love of the old school hot rod scene. If i could ever come up with a design that i really like, my car would be covered in old school pinstriping. It makes me sad that most people in the world nowadays cant see the beauty in pinstriping, most people think striping is ugly. But i know there will be at least one person that carries on the tradition of old school pinstriping, striping for me is a good way to unwind, cause it forces me to calm down so i dont screw my lines up.

I hear ya bro. I was raised around old school rides so thats all I knew growing up. Literally spent the first 12 years of my life either in the shop with pops or out at shows or races. Just got back from the Turkey Rod Run last month actually. Family tradition. I do a lot of pinstriping by hand but mostly for fun. I'll do up a few blanks and put them in the garage or something. My problem is I have to see it before I do it. I can't just free hand something out of thin air like some folks do.

I got the idea for scallops from my dad's 50 Merc. Figured everyone in 'our' age group does flames and I've done several of my cars with ghost flames so I wanted something different. I put down tape for flames on the bird first but I just couldn't get it to look right with the car's body line so I scrapped it and went with plan B. It was supposed to be very subtle but since I grabbed the wrong gun...I just said hell with it and finished it up.

This is what it looked like when I first hit it.

The White Pearl actually has a TINY bit of red pearl in there as well just for an illusion effect. You can only tell when you see it in direct sunlight at a certain angle.

I'm going to re-shoot the 83 Stang shortly in the same color white pearl as the Bird but without graphics though. Figured with a hot motor, there is no reason to keep it looking boring. New wheels will go on then as well.

I might pull out the HOK Kameleon I have left over from another project and do some real subtle type of pin stripe design but I haven't decided yet. Something VERY faint until you hit the light just right.

Oh, and I'm out of Lawton. I make up to Enid a bit during the spring/summer months. Few of my college buddies live up that way. That and baseball games.
