Greetings,
I've been a long time ford customer driving mostly trucks since I started driving. Recently I decided it was time to get a Mustang GT which is by far the sexiest machine on the road when it comes to price point and sheer awesome qualities for me. I'm currently doing as much research as I can to make the best purchase I can on a GT Premium here in the Carolinas. I'm currently looking for a white new Premium GT. I'm pricing out the options I like and just putting as much information together as I can. It's going well and locally my Father and I have had good success with Dale Jarred Ford. He bought a F150 lightning SVT, that is the most insane truck I've ever ridden in a few years ago 2001/2002. It's modified and when he looked at the Shelby GT 500 they told him his truck would absolutely stomp a stock GT 500 the way his is setup. I'm not looking to have as crazy a ride as he has but I am reading everything I can and looking into mods that will make the ride enjoyable. The pictures in the Eye Candy thread have Sexy written all over them. Love it! Guidance would be awesome in terms of packages. Currently the stock GT Premium looks like the choice package. I want to delete the spoiler, and the 17inch Premium tire upgrade looks nice but I don't know much about this and would like advice on the rims/wheels. I want a hot looking ride but I could easily do something after my purchase. I'm thinking of sticking with the shaker 500. <advice would be cool if you have some on this. any other dealer packages you guys can advice on would be awesome. Even if you just want to say hello that would be cool too. I'm definitely a noob when it comes to a lot of the stuff I see here but I figure I gotta start somewhere Rod |

Price Range 25-32k. Looking to buy a new GT. Most likely take advantage of summer or end of model year deals on 2007. Value is important to me and I have had that with all the ford trucks I have had. Currently driving a 2001 4.2 V6 F150 manual, White with flareside. Before that I had a white Ranger Splash with the 4.0 L V6 manual. I usually get a new vehicle before I get to 100k miles and with a promotion at my job it feels like time to get the vehicle I really want. I love my truck but its time for something new.
Naturally that is a mustang GT :wink |

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm doing a lot of research to find just what I want and some of the great stuff on this site has really helped me. So far I've got the following put together:
White Premium Mustang GT 2007 5 spd manual, I saw a really nice red leather interior at the ford dealer down the street. It was a Burgundy color. Seems like the red leather is just sort of Red? is not what the one I saw looked like. Is this kind of different color leather usually available from dealers if you order your mustang? The Burgundy was awesome looking. The dealer down the street is not one I would recommend so this weekend I am headed out to the local svt certified dealer which is down the road a bit to talk to them and see about what I'm looking for.I think the only other things I want to add are the Front side mounted air bags and the 3.55 Limited Slip Axle Ratio when I purchase it from the dealer. Things I want to add/Mod: Hurst Shifter Something like: Possibly ford Racing 2005-07 CHROME MUSTANG GT WHEEL Change the caps to the SVT caps. Maybe bigger rims though. From here I'll start looking at performance stuff but right now I'm starting off with just this list. any suggestions words of advice on the leather stuff would be appreciated. I've never really bought a car with leather seats before so I don't know much about how dealers do this stuff. It wasn't listed as anything special on the sticker on the GT I saw that had it. I might see if they will let me take some pictures of that burgundy interior. It was hot!

Welcome to MM. Your dealer will be able to show you the different color interior packages. As for the stereo, if you are ever going to upgrade to an after market stereo, get the Shaker 500. If you have no interest in an after market stereo, go for the Shaker 1000. Personally I would upgrade to 18" wheels right from the factory. It's a relatively cheap upgrade, and if you ever sell the car down the road, it's a touch more attractive to have those wheels as opposed to the 17's.
I would also go for the Interior Upgrade Package option. It gives you the satin aluminum leather wrapped steering wheel, the mycolor dash, which lets you ahcnge the lighting color in the gauges, satin aluminum door handles, satin aluminum shifter knob, satin aluminum door sill scuff plates with Mustang emblem. I would stop by your dealer and pick up a Mustang brochure, it will have most of the info you need. You can also go to Ford's website, and build your own Mustang, just to see what the options & colors are that you like. Welcome to MM

I'm going to the dealer after work to get a brochure. I see some of the mustangs on this site with sweet stripes down the middle. I'd really like a white GT mustang with the blue stripes. ![]() how do most people get this done to their GT's?

It's a factory option you can get from the dealer. You can also have them done after wards. I have the factory vinyl stripes, but I have to tell you, I'm not happy with the quality of the stripes, or of the job. I have had them redone once, and they are peeling off again in spots. They are also uneven in places. I'm currently in the middle of negotiating with my dealer to get a credit back on the stripes, and have that amount applied to having them painted on.
So, of you can afford it, I would buy the car, figure out what color & type of stripes you want, and then have them painted on. In my area, it's roughly 1200 bucks to have them painted on at a reputable paint shop. |

You read my mind on the stripes. Stopped me from doing the vinyl stripes from the dealer. I am pretty set on getting a white mustang so I'll start looking to get the stripes painted. As soon as I buy one I'll get a picture up.
Thanks again for the great advice. Nice to know going in rather than worrying about it later.I stopped by my local ford dealer last night and of course they are out of brochures. (WTF) I took a look down the line and found a GT premium with most of the good options for 24k. It had 500 miles on it already and 20 inch tires setup. It looked really hot but wasn't the color I want. It was a Dark Grey color. I'm going to head out to the dealer that is svt certified tonight after work and take a look. They have about 4 white mustangs according to the online inventory that match what I am looking for. Hopefully I get lucky and find what I want and they do the deal I want too.

Hi StangROD
Definitely get the interior upgrade. The Shaker 500 sounds pretty sweet as is - and you can always add an aftermarket 10"/12" and amp later for a lot less than the cost of the Shaker 1000. |

I also have kickass news. I just called State Farm, apparently it will only cost me 300$ extra a year in insurance.. I'm shocked as I am going from an F-150 to a new 2007 GT mustang. I figured it was going to be at least 1000$ more a year because its a sports car.

Ok I have been looking for a White mustang but check this thing out. It's down the street at the ford dealer.
![]() Sticker says 28,000 something... guy told me 24,000 while I was just looking at it outside. It comes with the tires it has on it etc. I asked him how many miles it has and he tells me 500. I'm thinking it must have been a demo or something. It looks really nice. I went out to take this picture. Hopefully the geocities link works for you guys. Still in the buyer mode right now. I guess I should test drive it sometime soon. I need to get the full story but I don't have that yet.
