howdy from alaska

Howdy all!
Just bought my 3rd mustang, first in the past 15 years. Actually it's my first real mustang, prior cars were an '80 capri 2.3 and an '82 capri 5.0.
Now that I'm older and have decided I can handle owning a car again I've dove in head first and purchased my buddies race car, that I helped build a couple years ago.

Details... where to start?

'90 GT 5.0 5spd car. Engine rebuilt within 250 miles. Edelbrock heads, cam and intake. Performance MAF and Throttle Body. 24lb injectors, FPR, cobra computer. BBK Shorty headers, custom h-pipe and exhaust w/ dual flowmaster 40's. Nice compliment of Autometer Gauges. Accusump oil system, moroso road race oilpan and windage tray. Full MSD ignition including billet dizzy, coil, wires and box. Almost new race clutch. Some big aluminuim radiator and electric fan. Underdrive pulley setup. Fuel Cell, Moroso fuel pump. Tranny has been rebuilt w/ stronger bits, the poor old T-5 couldn't handle road racing.

Gutted interior, full cage, Kirkey road race seat, RCI platimuim harness.

rear: Maximuim Motorsports Chassis stiffeners, Torque Tube, Adjustable lower control arms, Panhard bar, adjustable swaybar, Tokiko adjustable shocks, race springs.

front: Maximuim Motorsports strut tower brace, race springs, Caster/Camber plates, Adjustable Tokikos, HD swaybar.

Baer 13" brakes up front, I think 11's out back, Custom Master cylinder and proportioning valve, Stainless lines, Hubs and axles upgraded to SN95 stuff, 17" rims and race rubber. Has Avon 275/40zr17 race tires, as well as several hoosier spares.

Enough details?

I've started destickering the car, gonna leave alot of it though.. It is a race car. If I don't have enough stickers I'll get passed for sure!

Welcome to MM. Don't let these wingnuts scare you off with Eskimo comments. Us Canadians are used to it. Sayy, that reminds me.

Do you know how to catch a polar bear without much ado?

1. Drill hole in ice. Ugh!

2. Open can of peas.

3. Pour peas around perimeter of hole in ice.

4. Wait for bear. Try lurKiNg in igloo.

5. When bear ambles along, and bends over to eat, kick him in the pea-hole! Ah hahaha ha. I kill me.

thanks for the greetings, aside from the eskimo comments.

How do we know the toothbrush was invented by eskimos?

Anyone else would have called it a teethbrush! HAHA... oh, sorry.

don't yet have any engine pics, it's in my trailer and not easy to move the hood. One of the drawbacks to hoodpins and no hinge.

Heres a couple other pics though...

EDIT: Just learned it's an '87, not a 90. Guess that explains why I was told it has a MAF conversion... 'doh!

I may have had some parents from texas... or possibly some influential person from my childhood.

I'll get some more pics over labor day weekend, thats the next (and last) race this year. Hopefully some in car video as well.

Nice car! Looks (and runs I'm sure) amazing! I want to know the dyno #'s as well as track times asap. And leave the stickers. Like you said, it's a race car. Race cars with no stickers don't stand a chance at winning.

Keeping it a track car, but I'll put some lights in it and get some street tires to drive it around a bit. The race clutch and suspension don't lend themselves to street driving though.

We only really have 2 races a year, it sucks to have a car sitting around and only drive it 2 weekends a year!
