New v6 owner saying hello!

Hello everyone, I have been lurking here since purchasing my 2001 3.8 auto about 5 weeks ago. This is my first Mustang and ohhhh have I caught the bug bad. The search button here at MM has served me well already and helped me with the few first mods I have made. I figured it was time now to come out of the shadows and finally join the community b/c im sure I will need to ask specific questions in the future.

Here is what I have done so far to my stang. Unfortunately my car suffered from the cloudy headlights as many do, but I recently replaced them with some nice clear corners off ebay. I have added a CAI from americanmuscle, but thats about it on performance for now. I've added some new Mustang logo floor mats and a wheelskin cover to dress up the inside a bit. I've also painted the inserst on the 'hood scoop' and side scoops b/c they had become faded over the years, has anyone else done this?

I've already broken up my future mods into a few phases.

Phase 1: Custom dual exhaust with Y-pipe and flowmaster 40s (gotta keep cats) and chrome tips. Got this quoted locally for about $340

Phase 2: Steeda underdrive pulleys

Phase 3: 4:10 gear ratio with tlok

Phase 4: If tax return is big - 4.2L stroker
If tax return is small - nitrous kit

Well, that about sums it up for my lil sixer for right now. Money has currently run out for mods for a while, so I will just enjoy the majesty that is the mustang for a while and dream of the low tones of the flowmasters to come.

Instead of spamming up the forum with an introductory article of my own, I'll just tack on my introduction here. Hello!

I came across this community yesterday, and thought it would be a good idea to join since my old forum died. I also thought this community would be a great resource and asset for information regarding my vehicle.

I just bought my brand new 2007 Ford Mustang from the dealership about two weeks ago. It only had 35 miles on it when I purchased. Needless to say, I've accumulated over 1,100 miles on it since then.

I'm somewhat disappointed that it is only a V-6, but then again I couldn't afford the GT. I've heard it is possible to overcome and surpass the GT with certain modifications.

Anyway, I have but one question: What is the ideal RPM range to be in when you want the best gas mileage? I'm new to driving a standard transmission. Right now I try to keep it below 2,000 RPM's in the 1,500 RPM range.
