New Project In San AntonioCouple of observations about this car. Tell me if these seem normal for a stocker to you: Brakes are rather poor. Clutch is very tough to push in compared to my truck. Some wind noise. Dash rattles a bit. Engine seems unusually noisy for a stock vehicle. I've never had one that loud. Exhaust appears stock, so could it be a cam? My first step is to tear down the engine, give it a good cleaning and check, and update the rings and berings. Thinking about getting the pistons treated while they're out. |

well welcome to the site im fairly new also.
the brakes are probably just old. maybe a performance clutch the wind noise might be from old and cracked weatherstripping i would assume. the dash rattling means its probably just loose or something. the car is 16 years old but if it was cammed you definetly would be able to tell. maybe a hole in the muffler or something like that. gl on it.

the clutch being tight is a good thing...most of the time. means its new.
with older cars you will have rattles. same with wind noise. and the noise could just be from holes in old exhaust....just a lot of things it could be. |

welcome. for a 16 year old car, everything looks normal. other than the crappy brakes, fox brakes suck!

Ford v8 clutches are the toughest clutches ever. It's easier to drive a 5 or 6 speed of any other model than a Ford v8. I learned to drive a 5 speed on a 93 GT...Took me a while to figure it out. I drove a srt-4...did perfectly fine, 05 v6, perfectly fine, that 93 GT was a bit of a pain.
