Thanks everyone for your business this year! It turned out fantastic and was much better than I would have ever guessed. Seems like everyone was happy and was excited to give these as gifts. I'm not sure I should give exact numbers but I will say it was shocking! It just makes me so happy to know that maybe the effort will make a difference to someones Christmas.

If anyone needs (or someone thats recieving something as a gift) anything else, email me at my personal email.
I check that box everyday and can get stuff out very quickly.

I will be working something up for Valentines day next. I think Im going to make a "standard" basket with some of my products and a new line of hand made soaps we're getting into. I should have a real nice AFFORDABLE set up ready to roll by February first.

Thanks again MMer's!!!!!!!!!

Dang, that took a nice photo! Thanks OMZ! But.....you didnt trim the wick to 1/4 inch! Its, ok though, before you light it next time, cut it a weeee bit. It will make the candle last longer and keep it from "sooting". Those "chunk" candles do look nice. Just for shits and giggles, those candles are tedious to make. I make a good soy blend with a high percentage of peppermint and red pigment to start. I pour it into what looks like a big ass cookie sheet with 2 inch walls. I let it cool to the point where its still very soft on the center. Then cut it with a buck knife into squares and let it finish cooling for about 6 hours. After its cool I take them all out of the sheet and throw them into a big ass bag.

Next I take a couple dozen 6.5 molds (just looks like a tall steel cup the size of the finished candle) and put the wick stick in. Its a metal stick the goes up the center of the candle and has a round base at the bottom. I seal the bottom with some shit so the hot wax wont leak out later when I pour. So after the mold is all prepared, I put the "squares" in a few at a time so they stack nice inside the mold. I put them in until they start coming out the top of the mold.

Then I make the white wax. Just melted soy blend in a big pot and mix in the right amount of peppermint oil. No color, the wax cures white. So after thats mixed real well we have to wait a while until the temp comes down otherwise when we pour it into the mold, it will melt the chuncks and it will just be a big ugly piink candle. so it cools enough to where the wax starts clinging to the side of the pot and then we pour it in the prepared mold filling it all the way up.

After about another 24 hours of cooling, we break the candles out of the molds. we remove the wick stick .

After that, and this takes skill....so I let someone else do it... we hand level without using any machines. The bottom of the candle is placed on what looks like a big pancake griddle. The employee spins the candle while there is a "bubble level" on the top of it. She spins it until the level go's perfectly flat. Its hard. The first one I ever tried ended up being a "votive" by the time I was done because I had melted a few inches off the bottom of the candle trying to level it. When that happens, it go's back to be melted back down into something else and we lose all the work energy used up to that point. Yes, thats why I let someone else do it.

The final step in production is to wick it. We use only American made cotton and beeswax dipped wicks (no Chinese or Indian shit). We put the wick in and hot seal it to the bottom of the candle. Basically its pushing the wick with your thunb into the very warm wax to let it set. that way the wick stays put.

Finally, we bag, tag it.....then go get a case of beer and hope someone appreciates the amount of work and care that go's into these suckers!

Sure, we could make them by machine or have some over sea's company make them for us real cheap but thats not what we do!

I so wish I could get our company on "How its Made". I freakin love that show and it would be cool as hell to run through the process on camera.

Yes I can. However, because of the recipe containing a certain type of wax, It has to be in some type of container. I could make it into a jar candle or something similar but not a "pillar" free standing type candle.

I could make a few if you wanted. PM me. I can also pour into a custom container if you have one. Send me a picture and I can tell you if its something that will work.

CotM!!

You need to have a different, one off candle for each month. This would be a great way to help your business on here and other websites in my opinion. Also, you should invest some time in talking with site members about a private organized website, that way I have something official to link in my sig.

Anyway, I can't wait for the Candle of the Month for February. I'll be your first buyer!

Those look amazing! ever since I heard about Lead in candles I haven't lit ANY Of the ones I have bought from anywhere. perhaps its time for me to trade them out for some safer ones

I made a HUGE mess when I made candles one time. HUGE. MESS.

So now I stick to home made soap ! (easier and more gentle on my checking account)

I have some free shipping. Make it $35 not $42. To the few of you that placed orders, I am sending the difference back to your paypals. I can do it for the first 10 orders or so before I run out of it. I hate shipping charges but it is what it is. Anyways, I can pay ofr the shipping on the next 10 or so. $35 for either package shipped.
