Nitto NT 555's

I hav a set of nitto NT 555 R's on my car now but they straight suck in the rain, so im thinkin bout putting the 555's (non-drag radial) on for wet traction. Has ne one had them and do they perform well in the rain.

well i have driven mine several times with the 555r on and they do plenty fine at highway speeds. now dont be hotrodding or they wont give good traction but if your careful with the throttle they do excellent

Im getting new tires as soon as you guys can tell me the best tires for dry traction but still ok in the rain... so far i have been lookin at goodyear eagle f1 or nitto 555? any suggestions or comments on which is the best tire to get out of all the tires on the market... im looking for 285/40/zr17 to mount on my new rims....personally i love these rims and they are not to heavy can i please have some input on how you all feel on the overal look of these wheels.... the reason for getting them was because i have cobra r's now and wanted a deep dish version because no one really has them and i have never seen them befor up untill now..... please leave me some input....

thanks, mike

No drag radial is even close to being good in the rain. They are designed for dry traction.. All Mustangs suck in the rain.. Oh and those tires will not start to hydroplane until about 177mph in a downpour... That question cannot be answered there are 2 many variables.. I should not have to tell you that.. Oh I just did.. You should just stay home when it rains..

I love the 555's. I've been running them for about 4 or 5 years now, on my factory wheels now my 18's. I love them. Just put new fronts on 245/40/18 and about to put 305/35/18 555R's on the rear. I have never ran the R's before so I'm excited to see how they hook.

They will last...

I ran them for over a year...

The guy I sold them to is coming up on year one of him owning them...

So far 2 years and at least 20K and they are still going...

555's are great tires. i just rotated mine not long ago and i couldn't tell any difference in treadwear between the fronts and rears. and i've done a fair share of burnouts and drifting/powersliding. they get great traction dry and wet. much better than my old falkens and my brothers Toyos.
