Edelbrock Adj. Uppers has anyone used these?

I currently have a set on the 88 but they have been making the rear end move around quite a bit..... So tonight I went ahead and yanked the one off that has been moving the most for a better look. After pulling it off I found that the bolts they supply allow it to move 1/8" this is just nuts. This is causing the rear to slap the bottom of the car during gear changes. It sounds like a midget under the car smashing it with a sledge hammer everytime i shift. Then I saw one of the welds on it is cracked.
These arms have only been to the track twice. Is it worth finding some better bolts for it and reweld it or are they just known to fall apart?

I have a pair on my 88 as well. No problems so far. I only used the supplied hardware for the axle side and it fit well. I used the original hardware on the car side. Did you put the thrust bushing in the right place on the axle side? The supplied washers? They shouldn't be moving around at all, mine don't.

I am guessing that the broken welds are a result of this installation problem and not the arms themselves. Mine have worked perfect and made a big difference in improved traction. The uppers only locate the rear and shouldn't really be doing enough work to cause any welds to break, unless you are road course racing.
