Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow - Three Chamber Mufflers

I've always been puzzled since I bought my car why it doesn't drone like everyone else's cars do. I had read underneath the car that I had a BBK offroad h-pipe and some type of Flowmaster mufflers. Well, years after owning it, im figuring out why my car is so quiet (inside and out): I have the 50 series Delta Flow 3 chamber flowmasters. Went out and measured the casing and came up with the exact specs for delta flow 3 chamber mufflers. I honestly wasn't too surprised. My car has always been quieter than all the other Mustangs I hang out with, but it also was much more bearable inside. I switched to longtubes, an o/r x pipe and kept the flowmasters - and the exhaust is still quieter than some cars - but still loud enough to hurt ears when the revs go up. I had a 5.0 F150 with Flowmaster original 40's on it, and it droned like *hell* I even tried to convince myself to go to the muffler shop to have them weld back in a stock replacement. Quality has always been excellent on the catback, very little rust at the welds. Tips look fantastic (and stock-ish) and I actually credit my "quieter" flowmasters from saving me a ticket or two. my car really had a "perfect" tone when it was the o/r h-pipe and flowmasters imho. video for reference:
and it just became a little too cackly once i had to go with an x-pipe for the lt's. all in all - if you like the flowmaster tone, but want to kill the drone - id definitely recommend the flowmaster 50 series delta flow mufflers.

Glad you like the mufflers. I work for Flowmaster and really appreciate the kind words. Key to the deal is that many folks overlook the 50 series mufflers, both the delta flows and the super 50's. They are great mufflers and reduce sound significantly. Best news - the Delta 50's are now available in 409S stainless steel with a 10 year warranty. Enough with the sale pitch, enjoy your Flows.

glad i could help. a lot of people frown on flowmasters because "everybody has them" and theyre "not original" well - theres a good reason for that. theyre amazing sounding mufflers. my f150 always got compliments on its exhaust (probably even more than the mustang) and it still had the cats on it and everything. and while the tone of the 40 series was amazing, the 50 series was the perfect muffler for my car, and i found that out completely on accident. i daily drive my mustang and needed something that would let me hold a conversation when i needed to, and sound great when i wanted to. my father still yells at me to turn my car off because its too loud for him - and a number of people have told me that my car is wickedly loud outside. but if you were a young guy i could understand how losing in the "whos car revs louder" contest would make you feel. obviously the 40 series and 10 series single chambers are for them. im quite pleased with my 50 series, however, and i think theyll be sitting on my car for a long time. just polished up my tips today - they look fantastic.

flowmaster is a great muffler, i run the original 40's series and i love it

i really dont think flowmaster is over played in the mustang world anymore, i see a lot more ppl using bassani, magnaflow, slp, and borla it seems

but imo flowmaster has amazing tone along with the roar, its not just a muffler that will make your ears bleed

the original 40s are an awesome sounding muffler i will say. my buddy has a 2000 gt with a bbk o/r x pipe and flowmaster 40 weld-ins. sounds immaculate, though i wouldve preferred an o/r h pipe. im looking at buying a 99-04 gt next anyway, and if i change my mind on liking the 3 chambers so much, ill go o/r h pipe to original 40's. just an amazing tone imo.
