Walbro 255 fuel pump for 96 GT

First off, tip of the hat to TRE Performance of California who received my billing information Friday night, and had my fuel pump delivered by Monday around noon (Michigan). That's top quality service, with free shipping and only $99 for a genuine Walbro 255. The piece itself was very professionally packaged and included all necessary accessories for a smooth installation.

My 96 GT has around 110k miles on it. Stock fuel pump (oem stamp on it when removed) and it had an awfully loud whine. A lot of people asked if I had an aftermarket pump in there. In preparation for my Procharger install, I needed something a little better, so I decided to go with the Walbro 255. If need be, I'll add my Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump or some other inline fuel pump to my setup. I have an excellent tuner (Blue Collar Performance, of Westland, MI) who will be getting a chassis dyno installed very soon, so I should be able to let you guys know how it does.

The pump itself is actually quieter than my stock pump was. No idea how, but there isn't the loud whine when priming the engine or no more "up and down" style whine when i have my turn signal on at the stop light.

Once again, I'll update this as my build progresses.

update - since the install of my walbro 255 ive removed my supercharger and went back to an 87 octane na tune. im not sure if the tune is off - but gas mileage is suffering pretty bad. made barely 200 miles on the last tank. used to usually getting 240-280 from goosing it often, to driving like a granny - respectively. going to look into it more, but according to my datalogs via sct - my fuel trims, etc are spot on. and no check engine lights to speak of.
