MGW shifter

I put the new MGW short throw shifter on my car about 2 weeks ago now, here's the low down.

Total cost: $260, including shipping and including a really sweet GT logo shift knob.

Installation: Instructions were very detailed, luckily I didn't have to bother with the shift stops because I have the T-3650 tranny, so I just took the screws out completely as the instructions recommended. Total install time: 1:15, including scraping off the old silicon gasket with kitchen tools (I didn't have a razor blade).

First Impressions: This shifter is bulletproof. I first noticed just how rock solid it feels, and the lever is pretty adjustable, so I have it sitting close enough to me that to get it in 5th I don't have to lean forward at all. Upshifts and downshifts only require a flick of the wrist. Has taken some getting used to after the stock shifter, as in, it takes a little more force to get it over into first gear, and I've noticed that if I'm lazy, I'll miss 2nd and hit 4th, but I'm getting used to it now and it's happening less and less. And the 2nd to 3rd shift is nice and smooth.

Overall: Great shifter, I'm really impressed. I feel like I could hit it with a hammer and it would still work perfectly. It's quiet too, it didn't increase the interior noise level at all over the stock shifter.

Very good review. My experience is much the same.

I have one in my 04 Mach1 and 02 GT TT mod'd car. Excellent quality for all of their stuff and good people to deal with.

I put one in my dad's 05gt. its a real champ. fairly easy install, and rock solid shifts, you wont miss a 2nd to 3rd shift with this baby in your car. I love the fact you can ajust the lenghts of the shifts. I think it is even quieter inside the car with the mgw, it is by far in my opinion the best shifter on the market, period.
