'Performance Parts Inc'.WHOA>>>SCAM!
I ordered a set of Boss struts and shocks, splitter, diffuser, and steering wheel. I knew by the address he lists on his site that he worked out of his house(Google Earth works wonderfully), but he kept talking about getting with his 'accounting', 'sales', and 'shipping' departments... Although this could throw up a red flag, I just figured the guy was trying to give the impression he was a 'bigger' company.
Anyway, although he was supposed to ship out the majority of the stuff the following week, it took about an additional week for stuff to start shipping . Again...no biggie. Problem started when I opened the shocks and 'Boss' strut mounts, which arrived first( with the diffuser and splitter). The Ford boxes had the correct P/N on 'em for what they were- STOCK MUSTANG $35 shocks, and stock Mustang $40 strut mounts. He had quoted me around $600 for the set of struts/shocks and IIRC $89 for the pair of Boss strut mounts, but when I saw what he sent me, I started to get nervous. It was a Saturday, but I emailed him and heard back the next day. The problem/scam surfaced when he offered an excuse that was totally contrary to what happened. He knew what was going on before I even notified him, so he had an excuse already made up. He shoulda asked me what happened first. He told me Ford had packaged the wrong parts in the RIGHT boxes on the 'ENTIRE PALLET' of parts he received from 'em. As I previously wrote, the parts were not mis-marked, or in the wrong boxes...he simply ordered the wrong parts. He proceeded to tell me that the struts were gonna also be wrong(funny how he knew this was gonna happen) when they showed up, and that they'd be there the next day. As it turns out, he hadn't even sent them yet..I didn't receive 'em until the middle of the following week. What was happening here was, he was trying to hold onto my money for as long as possible. I inquired from other sources as to what the Boss shocks/struts were going for, and there's no way he was gonna be able to deliver on the price he quoted me. Obviously I was pushing to get the CORRECT pieces out to me ASAP, but he needed time to get it all sorted, and guess what? Ford MAGICALLY raised their prices THAT VERY SAME DAY. In fact they TRIPLED their prices on the struts/shocks, so...you guessed it. He wasn't gonna be able to get them to me. So at this point he's sitting on my money for about 3 weeks, sent out the struts AFTER I received the wrong shocks, and he told me that the struts were gonna be wrong as well. Obviously he didn't have the money to refund my money to me, so he was trying to buy time. So he sent out call tags for the wrong stuff, and said to call him with the C/T numbers when I received 'em, and he'd refund my money at that point. When the call tags showed up BEFORE the struts did, I called him up and called him on the whole thing. I told him I knew what he was doing, and I wanted my money back NOW!. He had $600 of mine, and all I had was a pair of $35 shocks, and a pair of WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BOSS UPPER STRUT MOUNTS, but were of course OLD MUSTANG stock parts. All pieces totaling around $150. There's absolutely no reason why he should hold onto my $850, when I was just sitting on $150 in parts. I even offered to ship his parts back to him COD and give him the tracking number, to which he responded that it was 'company policy(another joke)' that they don't receive CODs. So the struts finally show up, I call him with all the call tag numbers, and he emails back that he will issue a refund by I quote '2100 EST'. Goofball.. So I call the credit card company at 9pm PST(3-hours after he committed to issuing the refund), and inquire as to whether or not a refund had been issued. Of course it hadn't(so I opened up a 'dispute' at that point).. He had been saying that while he will issue the refund on his end, it may take a couple of days to get back into my account. What he obviously didn't know was, the credit card company is aware of the refund the SECOND it's issued. They just take their time putting the money back into your account to maximize the amount of time THEY have your money. Been that was since, well forever. I used two credit cards for the transactions with him, and straight from their mouths, he HADN'T issued a refund on EITHER of them. So the next day I email him telling him that I talked to the two companies, and that SHOCKINGLY he HADN'T issued the refunds, and that I was going to file complaints with both, file a police report with HIS local police(I had his home address), and that I was going to do what I'm doing on here. He responded that of course he DID refund my money, but that it doesn't actually go through until the credit card machine batches bs, bs, blah blah blah.... Again...bunch of B.S. Just like when a charge is received, the credit card company KNOWS the SECOND a refund is issued, even though it might take them a couple days to process it into your account. One card was paypal, and they actually told me they now issue you back a temporary refund until the case is settled. Then either let you keep it, or pull it back if they find against you, ala Amex. Since they do this, they jump on the 'vendor' almost immediately. So magically later on that night both cards were refunded. While all this is going on, he's still got another $200 of mine for the Boss steering wheel that he claims to have shipped out a week prior. I had been asking for a tracking number, and of course he had an excuse as to why I hadn't received it.. 'the shipping company automatically sends the track number to you...it must of got blocked by my spam filter'. So now I'm DEMANDING HE PERSONALLY SEND ME THE TRACKING NUMBER, and guess what? Yet again he hadn't actually shipped it. His response was that 'the shipping co will send you the tracking number when they ship it, bla bla".. I chose not to even go into it with him...asking why he AGAIN lied to me and said it had already been shipped(in reality, NO Boss steering wheels are gonna be shipped out until AT LEAST 8/12-on backorder). I simply told him to IMMEDIATELY REFUND MY MONEY FOR IT. He did so this time in somewhat of a timely manner, so at this point all I have to do is deal with this 'Diffuser' he sent me. It was no surprise that when I opened it up, it wasn't what it was supposed to be. It looks like a used valance off some car... Luckily those things are relatively inexpensive, so I just had one ordered form the dealer I got the car from. Ironically, the dealer sold it to me cheaper than he charged me for the 'piece' he sent me. So as it stands, I'm out around $170-right now. Considering that he tried to screw me outta $850++(including the diffuser), I'm considering myself 'lucky' that although I was scammed, I got the amount back that I did. I've got the credit card company on it, and have filed a police report with HIS local PD, so I'm gonna let it take it's course. I'm definitely sleeping a lot more easily now than I was before.. Moral of the story is, PERFORMANCE PARTS INC. Point-blank screwed me. Purposely sent me junk when I was charged for top-notch parts(not to mention he charged me for parts before he shipped 'em, which is contrary to what he said he'd do. Again.. SHOCKING! ). Then held onto my money as long as possible for one reason. His business prolly sucks, and he was trying to get money to either rob Peter to pay Paul, or to simply get money the easy way-Scam someone over the internet.I advise any and all to AVOID this guy like the plague. He tries to sucker you in with low(er) prices. If he still lists his 'company'(home) address on his site and you live in Virginia/Wa D.C., it'd be pretty easy to pay him a visit if/when he screws you. But if like me you're from the opposite side of the country, you gotta go through channels to deal with it. |

Wow, the web site is a real trip! If you click on the suspension tab, two of the 3 pictures of mustangs are video game screenshots...I'm guessing the red cobra R is from Gran Turismo...he really couldn't find pictures of mustangs on the internet?
Will never use that one and thank you.
