2011-12 Shaker Head Unit/Aftermarket Amp Harness, AOEM-FRD24

Short Version...
AOEM-FRD24 Harness = Amazing Product! Gives you 4 Mid/High RCA Outputs

Stock Navi unit + FRD24 + 11ZX7005 AMP + Pioneer TS-D6802R speakers + Kicker L5 Sub = Great sounding Stereo system for an affordable price!

Long Version

Since I picked up my Stang, I knew it needed more stereo. I ordered my 2011 GT with the Navi system, I love the way it looks, the hd, etc... But the shaker 500 was not enough stereo for me. So I started the upgrade. I began with the Speakers. Ripped out the old Shaker 500 speakers, and installed 4 Pioneer TS-D6802R speakers. It was a nice little upgrade, but you can tell the speakers were way underpowered and didnt sound right. I also upgraded the door subs to the Shelby Kicker CVT 8" subs. Bass sounded cleaner, however it no longer hit as hard. This made me start looking for a way to install an amp without cutting all the wires and having crappy sound quality. I ended up finding the PAC AOEM-FRD24 harness, which hooks up between the head unit and the factory amp. Everyone said no.. it doesnt work.. you need to cut wires, install a OEM integration unit, etc... Im thinking the head unit sends out an amp signal, why not use it? So the FRD24 goes and gives you 4 channels for an amp, the sub needs to be tapped into though. To power my system, I used a Kicker 11ZX7005 amp, which is a 5 channel amp. I used the 05 version of this amp in my old S2000 and loved it, I knew the 2011 version would be better. So we went ahead took apart radio unit, and the FRD24 plugged right up, gave the 4 channels, and we tapped into the door subs for the sub channel. For the sub, I used a Kicker 10" L5 Solo Baric sub. We hooked everything up, and cross our fingers as we turned it on. It sounded amazing!! The FRD24 will give you 4 channels, but these are mid/high channels, perfect for the 6x8 speakers. Tapping the door subs gives you a good sub channel. In total, the entire system did not cost that much, and the harness is only like $35. well worth it if you want to keep your stock head unit but need more music like I did. This system puts out good clear sweet sounding music with a good amount of bass. however this will not give you that ghetto ground pounding bass. If you enjoy quality music, I would recommend this setup. Everything can be purchased from reputable sellers for a combined price of ~$800 plus installation. Only thing I would have done differently is leave the Stock Shaker subs instead of the Kicker ones.
