Cold Air Induction for us Newbes

I orderd my 07 GT in November and recieved it in December, I did alot of research and according to my best analysis of the huge amount of information out there; cooling and giving more air to the intake was the first mod. to do. I then did alot more reading and listening to others in these forums and settled on the Airaid CAI system. This system alows you to keep your factory tune and and not being one to jump at more radical mods(cautiouse, chicken) this system with the venturi insert would alow me to ease into the quest for horses. I orderd it online with permission from my wife; and recieved it in 5 days ground UPS. I installed it with five beers while talking to my neibors son about his tour in Iraq in about an hour.

The exhaust note from startup was two octives lower and sounded great, I took it right out on the road and the throttle response was unbelievable, how could ford avoid such a simple mod for such results. In cruising mode 70-80mph the engine runs smoother and less rumble noise is noticable. I now will abandon power mods for awhile because the wheel hop factor reared its ugly head and I, according to my teenage daughter "drive like a grandmother", that suprised me because my mother thinks she's an Indie driver. Any way I will now start researching suspention mods before resuming my horses quest.

P.S. I started to uderstand Fords reasoning for slowing down the car the first time I experienced the wheel hop!
