I'd say if you dont have a track close by, then it be worth it. I looked into one back in the day but considering I've got a track 15 minutes away I couldn't justify it. I hear their really accurate as long as its setup right.

well our closest track is Jackson- about 45 minutes away in SC and ive never been. i was just reading some stuff about the product and it seems pretty cool and handy. the only problem is finding a good safe place to test its 1/4 mile and 0-100mph times.
i might shop around and see if i can get a cheap price on one. i need to see how my new job works out first

You have to know the exact weight, and power the car produces. Weather and skill will take a toll on the times. I've seen them used and the 1/4 times were way off. |

Not only that, but if the ground is even slightly up or downhill it can throw that thing way off.
According to that thing, my supercoupe pulled .95g taking off from a dead stop with 3.27 gears and 270ish rwhp and launching it semi light for minimal wheel spin. That was at the dragstrip where the ground was level so it was fairly accurate that time. However, on a slight downhill slope (and I mean so slight you couldnt tell by looking at it) it said my sc was making 600 horsepower, heh. I do like the things though because you can really do alot with them and tuning at a dragstrip. |

yeah gtech pros certainly suck in my opinion. I got a 1996 gt with pulley's,k and n intake, flowmaster exhaust, and a custom ecu tune and the gtech says i have 143 rwhp.....
on street tires i can run a 14.9 at 92 mph at a track- i think it takes a little more power than 143hp to push a 3500 pound car under 15 seconds. |
