how hards the install, i mean is it just taking the bolts off, take it out, put the new one in place and bolt it up? does it come out easy, is anything else to it? sounds like a 20 minute changeout,

it's very simple.
you basically just explained
it yourself.
the only other thing I would add is to put locktight around the bolts.

you will feel the difference in the r's and the rear wheel spin, install is easy i think it takes long to jack the car up and down then to put the driveshaft in. (hehehe)

is the only frpp one being sold now a 31 spline? we have 28 spline stock i thought, but does it matter w/ the driveshaft since it just kinda bolts up

I believe and someone correct me if im wrong but they are talking about the transmission splines not about the rearend where the axles are 28's but that doesnt have anything to do with the driveshaft, the ones that matter are the transmission splines and they are 31's.

Gotta put more tranny fluid in cuz when you pull your drive shaft its going to dump some fluid on you. At least it did to me.

for my S197 i got mine in a few days ago...waiting for weekend to install but it looks really simple. I bought mine from Shaftmasters and the guy there was very helpful. On the sn95's the install is a little dif (from what i have read) but the only things you need watch out for is the torque on the bolts, locktite, and the angle i think?

Correct me if I am wrong....

Yeah its a great mod for the money as well as the install time. It usually takes me 15 min to remove it and then reinstall it. But to limit the amount of tranny fluid you lose, jack up the rear as high as u want (if you have a good ebrake that will hold the rear end from spinning when your trying to break the bolts loose) Most of the tranny fluid won't pour out on you then.
I have done this 6 times in the last 3 months trying to find a transmission that isn't broken
Hope that helps.
Bobby
