water-methanol injection

what are your guys thoughts on water-meth injection? I see its kinda like nitrous, but is it safer and reliable? I have only found a kit at snowperformance.net Does anyone have a setup like this? How well does it perform?

Racing is money fuelish!

I have been reading about them for years.
I even bought a red JC Whitney unit once but never hooked it up.
For sure you will need a temperature activation switch.
Your engine must be up to operating temperature before you activate the water injection unit.

Also, a magnetic breaker would be a good bet.
This way it does not turn back on when you just did a hop to the old 7/11.
You don't want to flood your system with water at start-up, or after shut-down.

The water injection unit force cools the cylinders.
It stops predestination of your fuel.
It allows a denser cylinder air/fuel intake.
The same thing happens when you place a hot frying pan under the tap water.

The alcohol mixture just allows for a better, and quicker cooling. By doing this it allows your system to run cooler, cleaner, and you will be able to run lower octane fuel in a high compression engine.

Propane injection can do the same thing when it comes to force cooling your cylinders. It has a much higher octane rating: somewhere around 105/114
Water alcohol doesn't burn, it just turns into steam.

Have you ever heard of a cool can? What it does is run a metal fuel line in a coil inside a can with a lid that closes. You open the lid, fill the can with dry ice, and alcohol. This does a quick cools your fuel to a temperature way below zero degrees before it hits your intake.

All these things alone, or combined can get you quicker ETs.
The best way to describe what is going on is to use your foot to squash down the trash inside a trashcan so you can put more inside.

In the old days we would just drill out the carburetor jets to allow more fuel to be dumped into the cylinders. Now we have fuel injection, and we go with bigger throttle bodies. We do a better air to fuel ratio to make everything more efficient.

Dumping massive amounts of fuel into the cylinders is not very efficient, but it does make more power. It can also suck a gas tank dry in a matter of just a few minutes.

Air in / Air out!
What goes in must come out. Quick flow exhaust is another link in the chain. There are so many links in this chain a person could go daft trying exsplain them all.

Race cars do not make good street cars.
