I had a question for you guys, regarding wheels size: Do you think 20" Bullitt wheels will look good with 20x10 in the back and 20x8.5 in the front, or would 18x10 in the back and 18x9 in the front look better? How much would 20" wheels slow down the Mustang / worsen MPG / mess with the speedometer?

This is making it really hard to not want the 20" wheels:

(got it off of AmericanMuscle.com)

Welcome brother! Honestly, I'd recommend 18s. Get 18s and the eibach pro kit or sportline springs and I PROMISE you you will be happy! Here's a buddy of mines car with 18s and the sportline springs to give you an idea.

Congratulations, man what a great gift! Don't let the guys get you, a V6 is great for your first car. You are indeed very fortunate.: )

I'd only go 18's on your ride. That will look sweet and maybe down the line do the dual exhaust conversion. Looks sweet without the spoiler.

WELCOME to MM,, it tis a great place! Merry Christmas!

Drool. I can't say anything after an Emay picture except drool.

Welcome to the boards! Your sixer is perfect for your first Mustang. They still have lots of power and are sexy as hell...once you get used to it and get some driving experience under your belt, you'll be able to get that GT. Zippy's right - you sound like a smart kid! How refreshing!!!!

Haha, thank you so much! It means a lot, coming from a well-known and respected member here like yourself.

And after thinking about it a bit, I probably will go with the 18" wheels instead. All I want is for the wheel the fill up the entire wheel well without having a huge gap between the wheel and the fender or anything like that.

Thanks for all the responses!

Ahhh thank you *blush* That was sweet!

18's will be plenty - and the tires will be cheaper than 20's. You'll def want to lower it though. I figured it would be fine but quickly realized these guys in here know far more than me.

Obviously aesthetics are personal choice, but for me I love how 18's fit in the S197's.

Cool man.. what size tires do you recommend? I'll be getting 18x10 for the rear and 18x9 for the front.

Yeah, I'll be getting some springs as soon as possible for sure (definitely before wheels & tires).

For a 10", about a 305/35/18, and about a 275 for the front with the 9" rim.

You can use this tire size calculator and enter your current tire size, and then enter the prospective tire size, to check and see if you will maintain proper overall diameter.

Well, I'm perfectly fine with this first body style, but a new body style Mustang would have been just as good! And yeah, my Mom got a great deal on it because she used to work at a Ford dealer here (and she still knows the manager), so she was able to score this Mustang for $14k used with only 7k miles.
