i have 2 comments,

1- you clipped the top of the roof in the first picture, slightly distracting IMO.
2- HDR is over done again IMO.

I probably should have asked before editing your photos, but all I did was straighten them a lil bit . Hope you don't mind

Weems, these are good shots, I can only offer small pieces of advice as to how my brain would interpret. One thing I noticed is that some of the shots are on uneven ground, so the car sits funny in comparison to the building. What one person feels is crooked is straight when looking at another focal point in the shot.

Zip said to center your subject, I say bypass that with some of the background settings you had and use the rule of thirds. Just keep in mind with automobile photography if your not centering the main focal point and using the rule of thirds, make the open space in the shot in front of the car, as if it's travelling to that void. It will pay huge dividends.

Lastly, HDR is for the eye of the person creating it. It's artistic, some people dislike, some really enjoy it. Others like subtle HDR, and some like over cooked. The person making the creation gets to pick. Stand by your creations as they are yours and outside of someone saying it's great or it's not my thing, no one elses opinion matters.

lol I was going to get him on to the thirds after the basics of centering and leveling your subject in the frame as you compose your shot.

Of course, I'm one to talk, 95% of my shots are shot out the window of a bouncing Mack truck. Not a lot of composing going on there. lol

There sure isn't, and there should not be, or lives will be at stake.

Yup exactly. I actually have it down pat pretty good.

My S5 sits on the floor, in it's little Canon bag, with the magnetic flap. In the time I see something on the horizon, which isn't far at 65 mph, I can have the bag open, the camera on, the mode set, the zoom set, and the picture shot as it lands in my windshield. All with one hand, without taking my eyes off the road. lol

I certainly don't get close to the quality of shots you get, but as time goes on I get better and better at it.

Put your subject in one third of the frame...imagine your frame divided into nine equal grids...

In a shot with a tree, say, the horizon should line up at the lower line, or 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the frame....and the tree should be at the intersection of the bottom grid line and the right grid line. Or in the lower one third of the frame.

Erin can explain it far better than I.

lol that's why.

It came about as some artistic deal about how to proportion scenic pics properly or something. Again, Erin probably knows.

Weems, you do this to make the photograph appealing to the eye and make the viewer see and feel the photograph. By feel, I mean look at it and actually be able to place themselves there.

Even a poor photograph in sharpness can draw attention when composition pulls you in. That's why one does it.

K, not that I composed this pic from that rule, but on a quick check through my PB, it's the best way I can explain it.

The car is in the lower right third of the frame...imagine the edge of the dock as the horizon....where the land would meet the trees or sky....it's at the lower one third point of the frame.....not exactly, but you get the idea.

I'm sure Erin has exact examples he can show you.

Here, this is a better example. The horizon is at the one third mark from the bottom of the frame, and the subject, my truck, is at the lower-right third corner of the frame.

No problem, Zips got a good example. I'll put up one unassociated to cars so you see how the composition gives persepective. The idea is simply to break up the picture, however you can ruin a picture by including too much surrounding area, making it too noisy and busy. It's a practice thing.

This bird could be dead nuts center and sbe interesting, but thirding the picture makes it eye appealing everywhere, even in dull wooded surroundings..
