A few shots from the Ultimate Air Dog competition this weekend. I struggled in poor lighting here, but got a couple keepers. Had to bump my ISO way up which introduced some grain, but it was the only way to catch anything decent without distracting the dogs with flash.

These two were a little soft, but the dog was practicing and capturing a hung toy that was at the 20 ft mark from the dock he was leaving from. Flew threw the air like he had wings. In natural long jump he goes 27ft off the dock.

nice emay. what ISO did you use? i think they look pretty good, Something my D40 lacks with High ISO

The first two of the weimereiner were at 640, and came out pretty good because of his silver coat.

The last two are at 1000 and are still very soft even with the extreme jump in Iso I used. His darker coat and facial features made metering difficult, not to mention that dog comes down the launch like a freight train. Where other dogs got more vertical he held speed and went long as well as high..
