Most of the very good photographers in this world are naturally gifted. I'm dead serious when I say that. Uncanny ability to see composition, be ready on a whim, and understand adverse affects of light to a cameras setting without test shooting.

That said the start for any photog is to build a portfolio around the things that you love to shoot. If you don't enjoy it, you won't be superior at it. That's just the nature of things.

Be sure you use a print service for the shots in the portfolio, don't skimp with a home printer or some one hour photo. You need the quality to stand out.

This one has potenial Lefty

Cool Idea. I gotta try this one
yea it was a Nikon D40, i had bought a filter but it was the wrong size and i just was too lazy to get the right one, note taken on the aperture and exposure

the most stuff i have really learned is in photoshop, i went into the classes pretty knowledgeable, but its only my first quarter. i guess the program here at sfcc is pretty damn good, its an automatic entry to more prestigious programs so im told.

but for the degree i have to take B&W film photo which i think is BS but im rolling with it. and i guess there is more film classes to come

Long exposure shots are fun, there just aren't really any good places around me to take em.

This one is bad ass, Only thing it could benefit from is a tighter composition for a possible good look at the eye's through the mask. You damn near nailed it. The other thing is the time of day which you had no control over. You got some highlights that are starting to creep off the histogram in the other shots only because the sun was so harsh..

I use my exposure manager account to get "at cost prints" for my own personal use. The site is used as an online ordering place for potential customers so that you don't have to manage taking orders, or handling printing and shipping, exposure manager does it for you.

thanks emay! thinking back i probably should have stopped it down a peg or two, but on my little xti review screen it looked spot on at the time.

Yeah, I've done the same thing numerous times, looks good in view, get home, find a little something I could have done better.

Are you shooting in raw so you can make that tweak in pp after the fact? Raw adjustment saves lives..
