Can't fight that statement...look at both your and Emay's pics.

What models are you guys using and what was the $?

Mines a 40d, average camera for canon's lineup. Forget exact cost because I sold my XTI to cover a good portion on my upgrade and there was 200.00 worth of rebates to boot.

The camera body is the easy part, it's choking down the costs of lenses that proves difficult.

I can disagree, you have some amazing shots, and the shit on fred miranda just blows my mind. I have come to the conclusion that it is about who is behind that camera that makes the shot great.

I have to admit, quality L glass makes a huge difference, as well as makes the person behind the camera more versatile (can get away with more in light that offers very little).

thats the aperture size. its measured in f-stops. the lower the number, the wider the aperture is, and the higher the number, the smaller it is. you can adjust this to let more or less light into your picture.

think of the aperture as the pupil of an eye. if you're inside your house and you walk outside into the sun, your pupils will automatically adjust and become smaller because there is more light going into your eye than when you were inside.

if you want a more detailed explanation check this website out:

I was just bs'ing Weems. A Nikon is every bit as capable as a Canon. My D40 isn't quite what Emay's and Red's cameras are though.

I think the D40 and the XTi are comparable? Correct me if I am wrong.

Is that what Red has? NM...I thought that he had a 40d like Emay. List price on a 40d is around twice what I paid for the D40.

Yeah the XTi is about the same price as a D40.
