BTW...we seriously need a second and third place (no prizes). We already know who's going to win.

Emay.
Haha, there will be a voting thread, so we will be able to see who gets second and third place. I'll see what I can do about getting some custom titles below the avatars made up for 2nd and third place.

Probably not possible now...but the pics should be like submitted w/o names attached to them, but that would that would involve a 2nd party entering them. So that might not be a viable option either.

that would level the field and not make it a popularity contest....not that it will

I'm just saying

Hopefully the members have the integrity to vote on the pictures and not the person who submitted them.

Cool, it's not gonna be me. I told weems I kicked in a donation but will likely be limited in terms of sinking in the time that I normally would for something that in my eye is a quality "competitive" picture. Spring time has gotten me busy already, and my free time has been with the family not behind the camera.

I'll see about getting something in, it's just that I would take this to the next level in terms of set up if I had the time.

Besides, I think your shots, weems, and oneman's are all getting just as good as mine have ever been. Everyone has come a long way in a short period of time..

I'm liking it so far. The focus can be a little soft, but it's great overall.

Sometimes you have to send them lenses in for calibration, could be a back focus or front focus issue.. when you know some time is coming that you can get by without the camera, send the camera and lens to canon for calibration.

Really? How long does it usually take and how much does it cost.

No, he shoots digital. A Nikon D60.

I had my 50mm 1.4 turned around in 7 days. That lens was back focusing out of the box.. Could have just gone back to Calumet but in reading up that particular lens seemedto have problems across the date code range, so I was likely to get another copy doing the same thing.

I'm guessing that he asked cause some of your contrast settings give a film grain type of appearance.

BTW...I took a look at the photos in the contest thread. They are all amazing. I was especially impressed with Red's photos.
