Nice dude. I feel your pain on the "ooooohh ahhh" factor...

Yellow is the same way. I can get that oooh ahhh shit with my step moms Cobalt SS, it's black. Sometimes I wish I would've gotten a black GT, but oh well.

If by "distracting" you mean "completely amazing" yes, yes it is.

Thanks

I had this as a topic with my painter when I had my cervini body kit shot. He asked me up front if wanted the parts to match the Ford orange peel, or if I wanted them wet sanded to a point of near no peel like your side scoops show - I elected to leave the peel on the aftermarket parts and I'm glad I did. Especially since blakc reveals shit so easily. I would have been annoyed.

I've learned over the years that cars with no orange peel have one of two things going for them - 1. an anal owner who spent the coin wetsanding the peel out, 2. The car was wrecked and the entire thing was gone over to make sure all the panels looked identical to the eye.

If you hit up any of the auctions, people actually look for a little peel to be left on the "all original" cars because that's part of the nostalgia.

I'll eventually have the entire car wet sanded, but it's not so bad with Ford that it's a mandatory thing.

Huh. I didn't know that Emay.

What would you be looking at to get an entire car wetsanded? I know it won't be cheap, but you wouldn't happen to have a rough estimate, would you? I think at some point, I may be that anal owner.

Like I told Weems, the car looks great. All of the swirl marks are gone, and the paint looks brand new, but when I didn't get the mirror effect, I gotta admit, I was a little disappointed.

X, your car looks fantastic. White cars are the hardest to keep up but WELL worth the effort. Nice job bro!

Thanks JA!

It was nice, driving around. I felt good....

Then on the way home it started raining, and I got stuck behind a dumptruck carrying clay

Looks great!!! Now I detailed for 3+ years in the past (and should know this), but couldn't a good rubbing compound minimize the peel??

at least the orange peel isn't as bad as it is on most new BMW's ( i have no idea what is up with that but its BAAADD) In late 2006 there was an identical gt/cs at the ford dealer in town and I wanted it SOOO bad but just didn't have the money at the time.
