Looking great man! And I dig those new valve covers. Just an all around clean car/engine.
What's the setup? Stock displacement? How much boost? etc.

Thanks guys, no I didn't take any pics of the coils in the valley but all it really is, is ABS plastic with two rectangles cut out for the coil packs, the noise suppressors grounded against the mounting bolts and the CP's mounted to the plastic. The wires are MSD universals that I cut to fit.
I will be switching to COP eventually. MMR shortblock 3.00 pulley 10% overdrive I/W Balancer (16lbs) CMS 2.5 Blower Cams Stage 2 heads Mac L/T's Kurgan Power Pipe Edelbrock Intake 75mmTb C&L Plenum I think there's more but I can't remember, lol. Sniper Tuning by me. |

Very clean set up. The only reason I didn't go with the edelbrock intake was the limited choices of plenum/tb combos. Forcing one to choke it back down with an adapter plate that's alot smaller the opening on the intake.

Then you have to put a restrictive plate on it to make a regular plenum mount on.

You're really negative about the adapter plate aren't you, lol. Yes it's a square bore fitment.
Obviously the Edelbrock would be ideal but, you can only push in or suck in so much air and NA or my little SI I don't think it will matter a whole lot... The average gain with the intake is between 40-50rwhp from every shop and dyno sheet i've talked to and seen. (with or without the edelbrock elbow) I will be switching to the Edelbrock elbow and 90mm TB next season. My only concern in the IAC and TPS. I know the GM TPS also run 0-5v so I'm hooping to be able to use theirs and I'll also need to find a way to mount the IAC. Or again use a GM unit. |

Sorry to come off that way, the edelbrock intake has the potential for a lot of flow.. I considered the intake, and almost went with it. Sometimes I still wish I had. I was going to use a custom plenum with a single blade oval tb for a cobra. A guy on corral had this plenum made.

I actually have the same pictures saved on my computer. I'm still going for the Edel Plenum next season, I just wish I was better at tuning so I could out it on the dyno this summer so I have a base reading and see if there's a gain. :0(
It would have been nice to go with the TF intake but since getting the intake was a last minute "Oh shit" mod this was the most cost effective aftermarket. |
