Detailed: 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS

My dad told me one day when I was over raking their yard for some cash that Kim's (my stepmom) car had some bad scratches that would possibly earn me some brownie points. I looked at them and I said what the hell.

Well for Christmas I got the lovely combo of Meguiar's M105 and M205

Process:

1. Wash
2. Clay. I clayyed each p[anel only when I need to polish. It was in between my other other job so I did it panel to panel.
3. Meguiar's M105 with LC Yellow 5.5" Pad via Kevin Brown Method. Some panels like the fenders needed 2 passes with the M105.
4. Meguiar's M105 with LC Orange 5.5" Pad via KBM. Only some panels needed this follow up for some of the residual marks M205 probably wouldn't remove.
5. Meguiar's M205 with LC White 5.5" Pad. Very nice polish. I was VERY pleased with how this polish cleaned up. Most panels were LSP ready after one pass with this.
6. Pinnacle XMT #1 with LC Blue 5.5" pad. This is a technique I have found called jeweling. Add's just a little por to the paint and especially on black.
7. Poorboy's EX-P Sealant applied by hand via Pinnacle Foamies. This is where I currently am at. I am letting the sealant cure overnight and removing in the morning.
8. Poorboy's Natty's Blue Paste wax applied by hand via Pinnacle Foam Applicators.
9. Wheels are dressed with Meguiar's Hot Shine tire shine. Then buffed to a matte finish.

My step brother's key broke off inside the lock of his car. I had to drive 40 miles out of my way, go pick him up, take him to my parents house, and all this other crap.

Remember, that these are before ANY sealant, wax, or anything. Just polished. I will have the true afters in about 8 hours.

Little bit of dust. I didn't btoher wiping every bit of dust off till I finished polishing. The M105 would dust ONLY when the pad was becoming oversaturated with polish and it it would dry the edges cuasing it to dust. Otherwise, it was what I would consider a perfect polish.

I wanted it close for some of the photos. To me, it shows more clarity in the paint. Probably not so much with a BlackBerry camera. I'll be getting my step mom to pull out her Nikon tomorrow and get the money shots.

In shots like that, look on the edges of the light. The light is there to show imperfections. Without, the scratches/swirls cannot be seen clearly.

Damn that paint was fucked, it looks a hell of a lot better but we need a good camera with the car out in the sun to see the money shots. Guess you finally got the combo you wanted to try
