Here are some things I would recomend:

The number one thing is your background. I have never been a big fan of car shots in the forest. But at least you didn't park your car in the grass. Those never look right. Most of us don't typically drive in the grass.

Anyways, trees can be very distracting. If you want to use nature than use a blue sky, mountain, or ocean. Something with color. Not a bunch of dead tress. Someone already mentioned one bad thing about trees, sometimes it looks like your car has branches growing out of it. The second set of pics are better around the bridge and what not.

No matter what, you need to be carefull about background. It needs to be something simple and either as monochromatic as possible, or with colors that compliment the subject (in this case a red Mustang-so maybe try something with a green shade. Red and Green are complimentary colors on the color wheel). You don't want the back ground to take away from the subject. And be carefull with white. A dark background with spots of white will immediately take away from the car. The human eye naturally goes to the brightest part of a picture. If you have a dark red car on a dark background but with a patch of light, clouded sky in the top corner, even if it's a small patch, the eye will tend to go strait for it.

Here are a few tricks. The faster the shutter speed the more blue, and saturated the sky will appear. The more open the f-stop (the smaller the number) the more 'blur' you will have on a background. That's called depth-of-field. Sometimes a little bit of blur on your background can help force attention to the subject. Just be carefull on your focus.

The time of day can be important. Many of Emays good shots are done either early morning or right before sunset. The best times are 30 minutes after sunrise or 30 minutes before sunset on clear days. A quick google can tell you when sunrise and sunset is exactly for your area on that day.

One thing I really like (especially on red and blue cars) is to add some contrast, or saturation. A lot of times you can do this with camera settings. If not, it's a quick fix in photoshop. This can really help add that "WOW" to a pic. I recomend finding a cheap version of photoshop and just playing with it.
