Im using a canon XS with the kit lens. Nothing special. Id love a macro lens, but id also love to grow a 3rd arm out of my ass. Both have the same chance of happening.

i think you might have a better chance of buying a macro lens.. haha. they aren't too expensive.

I have the same Camera, with the same lens and I cant manage to land a shot like this, I've tried.. maybe I'm not using the right utensils? what do you use a bowl or something?

tips?

I used a black bowl filled with water. I then tied a plastic bag that was full of water from the handle on the cupboard in the kitchen. Then poke a hole so that it drips into the bowl. Tie the bag to something stationary, that way the drop lands in the same place every time. That's the only way you can maintain a constant focus.....as auto focus wont work. I think the shutter speed was 200-250. Honestly, focus was the hardest. Im still not real happy with these.

I really wanted to get a drop hitting another drop. I came close here, but not quite!

Thanks, my main issue was getting the drops to be consistent so I could focus on them, I will try the bag idea.

Im gonna try again later.. It takes a lot of practice.. and eventually my eyes get tired of trying to get the perfect focus. I tried a clear bowl but it just wasn't as good as the hot pink bowl. haha
