Thanks man

To be honest with you man, I wouldn't go into it unless you have a paint depth gauge. I don't have one, but this is a junk hood that I'm just working techniques with. It's pretty hard to do right.

And the only time you should wetsand is if you have REALLY deep scratches, cat scratches, key marks, etc. and those should just be done with feathering.

That's the main reason I haven't done it, I just don't know enough about it. I have some pits in the clear coat that drive me crazy.

If it's water etching it'll probably require what I did here, but not as large of an area; only spot sanding or feathering.

www.autogeekonline.net/forum/

Go there and search through all of the stuff man. Very useful site and I've learned alot through that site.

Also, I forgot to mention. The work isn't quite 100% up to par. When I was sanding I started paying attention to the music playing and not the sanding and went across an edge with the sandpaper (1500 grit). Next time I will be laying a strip of 1" tape across each edge to give a 'thicker' clearcoat on each edge. This is what this hood was bought for though so I feel nothing to be ashamed of.

Carnage

Yo Zinc, I have a few spots on my good that are cracks in the clear coat. Would wet sanding take this out?
