R.I.P. my V6...

well as of yesterday, my 98 V6 is totaled. this sucks ass

both airbags deployed, bumper support crushed in, radiator pierced, tranny cooler pierced, possibly part of the frame is bent. cop ripped out my under dash fusebox to stop my horns.

body shop says just over $5,000 in damage.

i was offered $1000 by one of the body shop workers for him to have as a project car

i dont have collision coverage on my car, so im not going through insurance.

coming to a stop from 40mph, i was slowing down normally, and around 30mph the car in front of me (who was also stopping normally) and they suddenly went from slowing down to slamming on their brakes and tires squeeling. and boom.

they said that i was the first car to hit, but i believe the car ahead of me rear ended the guy in front of her before i hit anyone

whatever the case, i shouldve "followed at an appropriate distance" nothing i can do about it now

4 cars were involved

That sucks man. I know all about losing your car......mine was just totaled. Hopefully insurance doesn't rape you.

im sure it will, im 18 and i was deemed "at fault" and received a $166 ticket for Careless Driving

Sell the car to the guy at the body shop...pay your ticket with it and then save up for another car.

im probably going to add some sort of Collision next time.

your right, it doesnt look too bad. thats what i though when i got out of the car. but once i looked into front, i realized how bad it really was. im going to the shop tomorrow morning to get more thorough pics with a normal camera.

yeah, i am perfectly fine. didnt even feel sore today. just headaches from all the stress. i am very glad i can out fine, the car did what it was supposed to do in a crash, protect me

I don't think I'd sell the car for $1000 if it was me. I'd probably take what little money I have and buy a beater for the time being and part out the car. I guess I don't know what condition the engine is in, but your car looks really clean and the front bumper doesn't even look to be damaged much from the pics.
