how you like those freightliners?? my dad just got a new one, box truck of course..with the auto..he effing loves it..my boss just got a new durastar tho and my dad tried to talk him out of it..my dad was foreman at international dealer 28+ years and still hates them lol

To be honest, we were nervous about them. Our US terminals had a few of them before us, and the guys were complaining of rattles, shit ride, noisy cabs, etc.

But the 08's we got came in with a different Cat, more insulated cab, and the auto.

We were also nervous about the auto. I had driven a couple of them here and there over the years, and they were temperamental at best.

So when I got this new truck in July of 08, I was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty quiet inside, very few rattles, the automatic works perfectly, and for a shortish wheelbase class 8 truck it rides very well. Easily the best riding truck I've driven in my 13 years with Air Products. Only the large car trucks I owned myself earlier in my career rode smoother than this Freightliner does.

thats cool, my dad raves about his..and LOVES the auto..and hes an old school stick shift guy lol. and says the truck is an animal.. gvw is like 33k and hes loaded with 41k worth of bananas!!
