Zinc Detailed: Black 2006 Cobalt SS

Remember this thread failing miserably a few months ago? Well, I had some time this weekend and finally managed to get some shots.

This is my step moms car. This car has NEVER been detailed. She took it through the auto car washes here regularly. Down here the teenagers in the trucks mud alot and take them through those washes. Well, the paint tells the rest of the story.

Some recent touch ups were done with the rotary.

The initial correction was done with a PC7424. This was before I got my rotary. This past week I came behind with the rotary and got these photos. She had taken it through an auto car wash once since I detailed it and it put some nice scratches that required the wool...

There is some orange peel still left over, but without a paint gauge I am not going to touch it.

Products:

Wash:
Meguiar's Gold Class via Two Bucket Method.
Cobra Bone
Leaf Blower
SMP Waffle Weave

Polishes:
Meguiar's M105 with a 3M Wool pad and 4" Orange LC CCS pads
Meguiar's M205 with a 5.5 "White LC Kompressor pad and 4" White LC CCS pads
3M Ultrafina with a Blue LC CCS pad and 4" Blue LC CCS pads

Backing Plates used were Meguiar's W64, LC 2 5/8" rotary

Trim: Cleaned with APC, IPA. Dressed with 303 Protectant

Wheels/Tires: Cleaned with APC and variosu brushes. Dressed with Meguiar's Endurance. Step mom wanted a glossy look to them. Wheel wax was applied to wheels.

Exhaust was polished with 0000 Steel Wool

Glass was cleaned with Stoner's Invisible Glass

Headlights were given a light polish with M105 and M205

Protection: Collinite 845

LSP: Natty's Blue 2 coats

Microfiber used: Cobra Arctic White's, SMP multipurpose, SMP buffing, SMP glass, SMP waffle weave

Before:

It was on the house. My dad said I could have some, so why not. Not my favorite, but it was a good drink.

Some dust

Every picture is slightly different, but I know it looks like I have the same pic up multiple times. I was using my step mom's work camera, not even her good one and I was trying to adjust to it.

Also, the car has been repainted.

looks good man, looks better than it would new!

My moms car is terribly swirled and I heard her complain about it today ( she needs to stop taking it to the car wash, they handwash the car but man those rags they use to dry the cars don't look clean to me) I think Im gonna do some work on it while she is on vacation next month, surprise her with it, I heard her complain about it today

Man, this is very well done. More impressive than the Lambo and Rover in my opinion because of the starting product you had to work with. Really amazing.

I can help you get contact info to possibly the best detailer around. He specializes in Mustangs and has done plenty of Hermann's mustangs. I'm sure you've heard of Hermann lol. They guy isn't cheap but he creates rolling mirrors everytime. PM me if you want some contact info.

Horsepower by Hermann in Maryland. Anyway, the guy that i'm referencing to has detailed many of Hermann's cars. Here's some pics of his work. He's located in Northern Virginia. I don't know hwo far away you are, but it shouldn't be terrible unless you are on the northern side of PA.
