Looky what I bought (Photo s***)

Soo, I never thought I would have gotten this lens this year but I came across a good deal and couldn't resist it.

It's so beautiful!! SIGMA 70-200 F/2.8 ... I am just absolutely amazed at how heavy/long the lens is. It's almost a foot long and makes my D40 look so small haha. Gotta upgrade that next. Also just finished the tripod set up. Took me a few months to finally buy a head. No more blurry photos I hope. take my advise, Do not buy a 40.00 tripod lol.

Ok, first off; I was just looking at this lens man. Can you send me some sample pics when you start shooting with it? Also, mind me asking how much you got it for? It's between this and the Canon 70-200 f/2.8. I'm pretty sure they discontinued this so I'm going to have to find it via forums/used.

Yea lefty, ill take some photos this weekend and post them. I paid 600 shipped. Unless you wanna pay 2000 for a canon one. I love sigma products though. I got their 10-20 as well.

Sign up for fredmiranda.com and search the classifieds daily. Thats where I bought mine. People sell stuff on there that is barely used a look brand new. Ive bought two lens over there so far.

Congrats power on both items the lens and ball head, that tripod looks familiar.

My 70-200 is my car shot work horse now. For a few reasons. The thing is tack sharp, but when you shoot at 2.8 from a good distance away - a distance that requires you to zoom in to 150-200mm for the shot, the shots are f'n sick in terms of depth of field..

I expect to see some good photos soon.

Erin, do you have the Canon 70-200mm? If so is it the IS or non IS? I have my eye on the 2.8 non IS right now...

I did a photoshoot tonight actually with it( VW GLI) . I really like the lens, and the Tripod and the ball head are just phenomenal. The camera does not move an inch. HUGE difference from my 40.00 tripod lol. I love this tripod sooo much. Well worth the investment, and thanks for the great price. and yeah, the ball head is really nice as well. Holds the 2.8 very nicely.

I'll post the pictures soon. I'm just soo busy with school. This is my last week till summer!

Lefty, I elected to have the non IS version. I've been in a few low light situations where I wish I had the IS, but not enough to justify the extra cost.

Power, that's a sweet copy of that lens - DOF is awesome. nice work..

Yeah from what I think I'll be using the lens for the most, the non-is will probably suit me the best. If I end up doing my friends wedding, I may just go rent the IS if needed.
