I'm gonna buy a decklid panel and not sure which one i should get. AM has the honeycomb pattern for 150, but stangmods.com has one for 50 bucks with no pattern. I cannot choose between the "matte black" or the "gloss black that they have. Here is the link to the website... I'm not sure whether to purchase the matte black or the gloss black which is shiny. Can you guys please tell me which you think would look best with my set up and the spoiler i have now....

well im pretty sure they're both vinyle, its just the different finish. i was asking this guy who deals with paint alot, and he said go with the matte, cause you cant really judge color from pics. He said that gloss color wouldnt match, so i think im going with matte... this better not be a bitch to install, from what i hear its pretty simple. The only part i dread is taking that GT emblem off the back. Ha

i would like to know what all you used and exactly how you did it cause i was also looking at the matte black vinyl for my decklid but paint would look much cleaner if done well

I THINK my spoiler is a matte black, cause it doesnt have that glossy look or anything, so im hoping that i wont have to paint it at all and it'll just match. If i have to paint it ill hit you guys up for sure.

yep...mines just krylon rattle can...

ez as pie

1. remove tag and emblem (or tape emblem)
2. tape off everything and newspaper the rear of the car..
3. scuff with scotchbrite pad
4. paint in even light coats, drying in between each coat...
5. coat until you you're pleased with the finish then remove the tape on the top line before the final coat dries or it'll crack the paint
6.wait a few days to wet sand after it cures...i used 2000grit

btw...no clear coat plz..it'll look blotchy, and for exact paint..i just use anything krylon when i rattle can..they are amazing paint products

nice... rattle canning will even be easier now that they have new sprayer heads.

how is it holding up in the elements though? i rattle canned my old stang and it faded fast and came off with water and just a tiny bit of rubbing with my finger

Not sure if this will help. Here is a pic of mine. I have the CDC panel, which is a matte to flat black and my spoiler is painted with flat black paint. Not the best pics though.

Remove it for sure. I left mine on and taped it off when I painted mine. It was a bitch to to try to get the paint under the edge of it and I can still see white under it. One of these days I'm going to take it off, sand everything down some and redo it so that quits bugging me

Nah probably not lol the guy i bought the car from had them on there and that's really what sold the car to me. I've still never seen those wheels with the little chrome billets in them.

And mjpj that definitely helped, thanks man. I think im gonna get the matte black, just not in the honey comb.... i like your rims. You don't see many in that color with the deep dish.

Ya i've seen a couple ppl without but never wish. I'm glad the guy got them though, cause otherwise i probably wouldnt have bought the car. lol especially had i known it'd been supercharged. But i didnt know that till after the fact.
