Justin's 99 Cobra

After selling my Turbo Explorer, I decided I wanted something that could take corners. I want to get into autocross and road course driving. I had just about decided that I was going to buy a C5 Vette, but came across this Cobra. I hadnt really considered a Mustang, and I really liked that it had the IRS. I know a vert isnt the logical choice for such a vehicle, but I fell in love. I mainly wanted a car that is fin to drive; I dont care alot about the dragstrip anymore.

So most of my mods will be geared towards handling. Although after spending years at theturboforums, it may end up with some hairdryers.

Mods so far:
-Drop in K&N (only mod car had when I bought it)
-Jardine 2.5" catback
-Short throw shifter (cheap American Muscle one)
-2001 black headlights with 6000k bixenons

Mods coming shortly:
-4 point bolt in cage
-wheels, probably ADR M classic 18x8.5 and 9.5
-better subframe connectors
-front and rear strut tower braces
-JLT short CAI
-possibly 4.10 gears
-Catted X-pipe
-tune (SCT)

Pictures arent great- they were taken with my Pre.

I need a camera badly. I have a nice little Sony point and shoot, but it seems to have grown legs. I want an SLR, but I dont know enough about them to pick out one yet. I missed out on a refurb deal on a Sony A230 today...

How's that "cheap American Muscle" short throw? I was thinking about getting that one myself.

This one right?: http://www.americanmuscle.com/t5-t45...t-shifter.html

This one right?: Mustang Short Throw Sport Shifter (83 - Early 01 V8 & 94-04 V6 T-5/T-45 Transmission) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
That is the one. Its much better than stock, but not as smooth as some of the more expensive ones. It seems one of my stiffer springs that came with it wasn't as stiff as the other, and I was missing third. I reversed the springs and it seems to have helped.

Nice. So is it smoother than stock then?

Its not rubbery like the stock shifter, but it isnt really what I would call smooth either. Its pretty notchy, but I like that. But its better because its more accurate, it doesnt have that big rubber isolator anymore, the throws are shorter, and the centering springs are much stiffer.
