1) To dark...looks like the original picture.... just not enough lighting

2) Is still a little to dark. The truck is not quite right. But then again if you wanted your focal point to be the sky/Autozone then I'd pick 2

3) I like best... all the colors look natural and are just the right light

I'm also going to go with 3. The first one just doesn't have enough color to it. 2 is ok but it doesn't look as natural as 3

well in my defence it's a weekly photo contest on a Ford Ranger forum. The subject always includes the truck.
This weeks contest is "your truck in front of a parts store"

so it's not like I get to choose the setting. These places are always packed with cars.

On the plus side I have all week to come up with a suitable shot.

I must be having a brain freeze or something.. I cant seem to get a shot that grabs me.

Heres a few more. But none of them say Cool, or Wow..

Suggestions welcome.

Nikon D90 with 12x24 wide angle lens..

Its the photographer, not the equipment..

All the photos seem to be taken in the shade. All the focal points of every photo are back lit. (Forcing the shadows to fall toward the camera and all). I think a shot with the sun facing the front of the store and the truck would look better.

I need to find one that faces west (this store faces east) & the best time I have to shoot is after work so I will be stuck fighting the shadows at that location.

Try backing the truck up directly under the autozone sign. Get a front shot, then take one while its backed in but in the last two feet cut the wheel to the left so its mostly straight but the fronts off a little bit. Also leave the tires turned.

And its ok, I know your good!!

I've got untill Sunday @ 6:00pm to get a decent shot.
