finally finished my work week and had some time to myself. cleaned up the car a little bit and sprayed a black guide coat on the hood. still needs more filler and block sanding on the sides and it will be good to go. the real good news is no cracking anywhere and its been a while since the hood was on the car. this is what i got:::

yepp, thats the stock hood i cut up and fiberglassed a scoop on to.
afger alot of block sanding it turned out to pretty straight and flat across the top. its the sides that need a little work to be just right.

Looks really good man. I've thought about making a hood on my own too. I often wondered how possible it would be. Thanks for posting the pics! I am now inspired knowing that it can be done, and done well.

i had a few people ask that haha. it isnt very hard. now that i did one i learned alot of stuff and could turn them out pretty quick i think. its alot of work tho.

i fiberglassed the entire scoop section myself. its 3" from the top of the hood to the top of the scoop.

dude, you wont regret buying a ranger. i have had 2 now and they are awesome trucks for the money. the 1st was a 95 reg cab short box. right like my 04 edge above but it had a 2.3 with a 5spd. cool little truck and i HAMMERED that thing. it never let me down once. i put 27,000 miles on my new truck in a year and a half and had ZERO issues with it. its all stock except the BFG's, tonneau cover and trailer hitch. just normal maintenence and they run like champs. cant comment much on the 4.0 but the 3.0 is a very good motor. got lucky and even found a 5spd in the 04

Off topic but i started working on a lower intake to adapt a termi style blower on to a b-head 4v. hopefully i can work out all the little crap and come up with something that works.
