I was never a sub person, because most of the time people turn them up and it is way to loud in proportion to the rest of the speakers and you can hardly hear the music. I was always fine with stock speakers, or higher quality stock replacements, no custom subs or anything. Of course, the previous owner of the cobra put one in the trunk, and I must say a sub, turned down to go with the music, adds a lot of oomph to the music that i really like.

What is this "box" business everyone keeps talking about lol

that's 13 inches...and thats about all I know lol

I plan on getting an integrated box maybe someday...just so I can get the spare tire back in lol

Yup, different strokes for different folks. I love a lot of clean bass, but it has to be balanced. If you want to have a good bass setup, your midbass speakers need to be able to keep up, to prevent pulling the sound behind you. My best setup consisted of 2 Hertz ML3000's which could move some serious air. My front stage consisted of Audison Thesis drivers (cost more than my charger, lol) though, that were capable of putting out some serious midbass to blend the stage.

My old HT setup was the same way. I was running an IB setup consisting of 4 18" subwoofers. This setup created insane amounts of bass, but never to the point of drawing attention to itself. It was a natural experience with everything blending together and complimenting one another.
