Both have badly blown highlights, do like the background in the first.

i've noticed he does that in alot of his pics...maybe its his thing...i dunno lol

Oh, I hadn't noticed. It's not appealing to the eye even in an artistic manner.

Spec'd the exif data - These are way off from being photographically sound. It's posting iso of 400 on a harsh sunny day, f 4.5, shutter 1/640th.

i think the blackout panel in the back just doesnt go with the white stripes... but clean car otherwise

We know the camera, the exif tells the story - but what's wrong with a point and shoot sony? I started in one and if I hadn't, wouldn't know a tenth what I know today. I've seen plenty of pns shots go to publish so pns is not a crutch. They are very capable in good hands.

Either way, if you apply just a few of the things mentioned, I think you'll be happier with the out of camera results with very little effort required. Give it a shot, nothing to lose.
